  • It'll do the job! Funny typo though....
Sturdy, good clip, decent velcro & band. It's a metal clipboard, as expected. Little whoopsie in the print, I wonder how many of these have the typo :D Personally, don't care - but funny.

  • Good but needs to be slightly larger.
Good but needs to be slightly larger. It is just a bit too small to properly hold a standard 5x8" legal notepad. 5 stars if it was slightly larger. The pen/pencil holder is a nice feature. An extra slim pen will not stay in place.

  • No more fumbling around
Still working towards my ticket, initially didnt want to get this because no student in my school uses them, and was self conscious that I'd look silly. To heck with it, got tired of fumbling around for that dropped checklist, and trying to remember atis info and instructions from my CFi. Got this, and am happy I did, making my life much easier, jotting notes down, and staying organized allowing me to focus on the flying. The CFI's I've flown with commended me on being organized and prepped as well. ... show more

  • Very durable but a little rough edges.
The kneeboard is a great size, about a half page. Having all the information printed on the kneeboard is a great little cheat sheet for quick information. The corners feel a bit sharp, I'm guessing these are from a stamping process where the smoothing of the corners isn't a thorough as it could be. The pen loop is a convenient place and keeps the pen right where you need it when you need it. Other kneeboards have more features but this one is a just works solution. ... show more

  • Solid kneeboard with a velcro strap
Needed a new kneeboard with a strap as my new G-suit doesn't have a strap anymore to hold it. This one fits perfectly around my leg and the board is slightly larger than my old one. It's metal and is a solid surface to write on and to hold my flight materials. Would recommend for any pilot.

  • It's a metal kneeboard.
Not much else to say -- performs as advertised. Used a clipboard before? Congrats, you'll know how to use this high tech bit of kit! All the VFR info is a nice touch, but obviously a little hard to read once you have a notepad on it. It would be good to have in a pinch though. Overall it is about the size of an iPad Air/Pro 11 inch. I usually sit with the seat all the way forward in a C172 and the yoke has never hit it, even on takeoff/landing or in performance maneuvers like stalls. There is not much adjustability on the band due to the relatively short length of the velcro patch. That sucks a tad if you have thin distance runner thighs like I do, but for most it is probably fine. It stays put perfectly well while flying, but if I forget to remove it and exit the cockpit while wearing the kneeboard, it quickly becomes and ankleboard. Awkward. The pen holder loop is again a good thought but a bit silly in practice -- I think you'd spend more time trying to put the pen back into it than you would using the pen to get the latest ATIS. I fly with my pen in the arm pocket of my flight jacket for this very reason, but if you don't fly in old Air Force regalia, YMMV. Overall a solid product, cheap, and a great starter for someone just entering flight school like I was. You can always upgrade to something else later! ... show more
