I'd been running my Mac Pro audio through a 40-year old Sony AV amp that, in it's time, was top-of-the-shelf. The amp was driving a set of Bose 161 bookshelf speakers and a Sony SA-WM200 powered sub. Given the age of the amp, I lost the left channel and rather than pay the high price of a repair (est $200 or >) and the fact the cost would exceed the price I paid for it in the late 80's, I decided to look for a lower cost alternative. I first tried the FOSI BT30D-S and for reasons I am unable to determine, I ended up with a loud 60-Hz ground loop hum that I could not get rid of. I am an IATSE sound tech and feel that I have a decent grasp of audio techniques but I was stumped. After returning the FOSI to Amazon (with no hassles and a refund in my account in 3 days), I did some further research online and saw several recommendations for the Arylic B50SE and took the plunge. I am literally stunned at the quality of its output. It's crystal clear and while the low-end was a little overbearing when I first got things running, the iPhone app allowed tweaking the frequencies and after a matter of a minute or two, the little guy is cranking as well as the Sony did. Needless to say, I am one happy camper and I highly recommend this if you need a tiny footprint to meet your audio amp needs. I've seen some online posts that say it may fall short with a larger set of speakers but no doubt the powered subwoofer adds greatly to its speaker response and at least in my case, it drives the Bose speakers beautifully. Its good! Has a real sub out with crossover and not just a line out. Although the power rating is sus, its good enough if you need to drive a small set of bookshelves for nearfield listening. I wouldn't use it for towers, I would go with Ayima 07 for that. Has a built in DAC so you can run optical or usb from your source. Good stuff Arylic ... show more

Very compatible with iPhone (using bluetooth), but not so much with PC/laptop on bluetooth. I had to use a wired line input for the windows laptop. Also couldn't get the suggested third-party generic phone app to work on the phone but the included remote control saved the day with bass and treble controls to help increase the sound quality immensely. If it were higher priced, this would have been sent back, but the crazy low price (and the fact that does the two specific things I needed) helps me overlook the gliches. ... show more

Hadn’t heard of this brand before. But took a chance and I’m sure glad I did. I sold stereo equipment back in the late 70s early 80s and preferred the classic sound. But the sound of this amp is impressive. Happy with my purchase.

I have been using this for a few weeks now and specifically wanted to get some time in before writing this review. This is being used on my PC driving a pair of Cerwin Vega VT8's. I have been using a old Pioneer stereo receiver connected to an older Sound Blaster USB sound card via RCA inputs. This has worked great for years, but the receiver is huge and gets noticeably warm. I have tried using a few different external amps over the years but they have all lacked in one way or another and I ended up back on the Pioneer. I am using this as a DAC + AMP using the USBC output. I had a hard time at first getting Windows to recognize the device, I think the first issue was the cable I used at first which appears to be a charge only cable (the manual does warn about this). After finding a USB-C cable that I know supported data it was still not recognized. I finally turned it off / on (the AMP) and then it magically showed up, so I guess if you do not have it connected to the computer when the AMP is first turned on it just does not get picked up. I have to turn it off / on when my computer hibernates for it to get picked back up. After getting past that I was disappointed that the sound out of the box was very, very flat. I tried messing with the sound card properties in Windows to add additional low end, but Windows does a software EQ and it lowers the volume overall to increase the low end. I saw there was an app for the amp, so I got that installed on my phone (annoyingly this app tries to get you to sign up for an account, but you can skip that). The app once you get it working is actually pretty great, easy to use and well laid out and I was able to adjust the bass / treble in the app which also has a EQ with several set presets. More importantly it has what amounts to a Loudness mode (Deep Bass). You can also adjust the sub crossover in the app. Once that was enabled this little amp came alive. I have been enjoying the sound and the adjustability of it all since getting the app running. Material wise this is put together nicely, love the power switch and how solid the volume works. The LED's are useful and not blaring bright and respond when receiving input from the remote. Speaking of the remote, I wish they would have included the two triple A batteries for it. Because they were not there I did not have a way to adjust the sound (bass / treble) until downloading the app, but even then you really need to use the app if you want to adjust some settings (like the Deep Bass, subwoofer crossover setting etc.). Overall I am very, very pleased with this DAC + AMP and would not hesitate to pick up another one for my work office. ... show more

    • Not a audiophile lovers dream.
Sound quality is not great with power hungry speakers or decent speaker. We tried this to run our outdoor Bose speakers and the sound quality is poor and can’t really drive a full range speaker. May be great for a smaller speaker but sound quality was poor for me. Great customer service and no proplem returning after owning it for a day. ... show more
