UPDATE: my original review talked about a lack of customer support, however they did contact me shortly after to let me know there was some sort of issue with the customer support email. They apologized, were very helpful, adn let me know that the software on the flash drive was not actually malware. Turns out that the open source software they included had an issue with that specific release flagging as malware, whereas the latest release doesn't flag and works great. I've gotten some solid use out of the machine since then, it's really impressive for what it is! This machine has a ton of potential: it's well built, sturdy, has versatility the ability to run a laser engraver instead of the router (note that it DOES NOT come with a laser, only the 300W router head) and air assist, has a nice adjustable light, can run cuts off a flash drive or a computer via USB, and includes two different sizes of cutting bits. While I hadn't heard of Wizmaker before, I did a little research and read good things about their previous products so I had high hopes for this. This was pretty easy to assemble by following the included instructions and using the included tools. I was a little disappointed to see the stains on the work area. While not something that affects the functionality of it, I would expect better presentation from a tool this expensive. One thing I don't love about the setup of this is that the connectors for the controller area face up, so I have to imagine that I will eventually find wood chips in the USB ports. The printed instructions only tell you how to assemble this, nothing about operation. It does include a flash drive and that includes both the printed instructions and another pdf explaining how to use the machine. It also includes the software needed and some sample files. I want to back up a step to get into why I'm giving this one star. It's always a good idea to run a malware scan on unfamiliar flash drives so I scanned the included drive when I got it and it alerted me to the fact that one of the programs on the drive was malware. I ran a scan in a different software to confirm and told me that it was malware (a worm to be more specific). Because the software that had the malware is the one the directions say is used for updating the firmware, I decided to reach out to Wizmaker to see if they could get me a version that wasn't malware. The message that I sent to the support email address printed in the instructions immediately resulted in a delivery failure notification which said that the email address "couldn't be found or is unable to receive mail." Frustrated, I tried scanning the QR code on the front of the machine to see if that would give me some more info or something; it just took me to an error page on their website. From there, I did find a contact us section on the website and I submitted a message asking for help. It's been weeks now and I still haven't heard back. There's no way I can recommend an $800 tool that ships with malware and zero support. This is really unfortunate because this had potential to be an awesome setup for people looking to get into CNC woodworking. If by some chance I do finally hear back from Wizmaker, I'll update this review, but until then I would steer clear of this one.

I’ve been learning to use this CNC router for a bit now and it’s actually been a fun ride learning how to use it. The frame feels solid and sturdy even when it’s running fast. The spindle hums along smooth at high rpm and cuts through wood and acrylic like butter. I’m still new to CNC work so there’s been a lot of trial and error but each project turns out cleaner than the last. Setup was simple since most of it comes already together. The controls take a minute to figure out but once you get the hang of it the accuracy is dead on. I have the bench vice and dust collector too, in hopes of improving the quality of my cuts and they do help a lot. It feels sturdy enough to last years if I keep it clean and lubed right. For the cost it’s a real good value especially if you plan to add the laser later on.

Size: CNC Vacuum Cleaner
This is definitely a luxury item but, in my opinion, well worth the investment. The two stages separate dust from heavier particles, which greatly reduces the strain on the filter. I was originally thinking of adapting this to my laser engraver. However, the power of this little beast led me in another direction: Using this to clean my work area has proven quite productive. If the adapter I have fits it, it will also create an extension wand that will prove greatly beneficial in other applications, as well (car, cordless mini saw, router, etc.). While a bit cumbersome for some of these tasks, the improvement in effectiveness makes it worth the effort. Extending the life of ANY filter is always beneficial, and I think I've just uncovered another gem, on vine. The less that makes it into the canister, the longer the filter lasts (of course). I've only seen a few granules make it into the canister, thus far. While I haven't used it extensively (only had it a few days), I have noted a couple of benefits that may not be completely obvious, at first. The primary dust stage goes through a clear canister (though dust will change this over time). This makes it easy to spot when an item may have gotten stuck in the tube. Added bonus: I tested this with my dewalt cordless wet/dry vac... BEAUTIFUL! Wet spills are easier to extract now, as well. With this staged between the cordless vac and the motor, there's a previous water trap in between. This means that there is less water reaching the actual motor unit, also. The only water that will even make it into the second stage will be the fine droplets that are not heavy enough to fall to the bottom and remain "airborn" in the cyclonic current. I have yet to find a downside to this little unit. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but "versatility" (a term I never thought I'd use with a vacuum) is never a bad thing to add to ANY tool.

I'm using this dust collector with a CNC table and it has really helped out compared to previous alternative - a big shopvac. The smaller size allows me to more easily position it and the primary/secondary setup lets me avoid rapidly clogging filters. I'm probably pushing the upper edge of this little guy's ability with my 4'x4' table and I had to make my own adapter for my router shoe but I'm happy with the end result and cutting is cutting so it is more how fast you're going that drives how fast you're making dust. Big or small it if the air flow works for your setup then you'll be ok. The price dropped recently and I think it is a pretty good deal at this point. The other option is either crappy (shopvac) or big, power intensive, and loud (dust collection systems).
