When I first rolled this out I thought it looked terrible and was a bit surprised but didn't realize that you do have to brush the grass up a lot to make it 1 look better and 2 feel better. I won't say it looks or feels real but it doesn't look immediately fake either once you get it fully worked out. I am a bit concerned of the grass pieces falling out but so far it's holding up decent. My pups also seem to like laying on it

The grass on this is fairly short compared to typical fields but it looks quite realistic. There's some brown strands that sit below the green that give the illusion of older, dead grass which I thought was pretty cool. I'm using this in my basement to simulate grass in a disc golf practice area and it works fairly well. I have the 5ft x 10ft mat sitting on concrete and it does want to slide around a little bit if I don't put a couple weights on the back, but that's not a huge deal. The mat arrives very tightly wound, so tightly that all the blades of grass are flattened in the same direction leaving a fairly slippery surface. After unrolling, I had to spend 10+ minutes on my hands and knees with an aggressive bristled hand brush pushing all the blades of grass the opposite direction so they'd stand up somewhat straight. I tried using a broom but it didn't have the leverage nor were its bristles rigid enough. I'll attach a photo of the mat when I had half of the blades of grass brushed upward, the difference is quite apparent.

At my townhouse, I don't have a big backyard with a lot of green, but I do like having lots of grass and plants, without doing the impossible of having a real live backyard. I saw this grass rug, and I decided I wanted to see how it faired in comparison. When I first got this, when I rolled it out the grass was sort of bent in one direction, so I allowed it to sit out overnight. It stood up a little it more, so then I got on my hands and knees and made sure to move the grass around to help it stand up which seemed to work. It also, made a shed just a little bit, so I'm keeping my eye on that. The look of the grass is very realistic. There's even slight color variations, which helps it look exactly like actual grass. There is no smell or odor, and it seems to be holding up quite well. Although I will keep my eye on more shedding, but it could have been just from me moving the direction of the blades around. Overall, I think this is grass rug is very good condition and quality and I would absolutely recommend it. It really helps to bring more of the outside in, without needing a ton of maintenance.
