Description

Characterized by distinctive, curved surfaces and sleek, streamlined finishes, the elegant lines of Art Deco style influenced many aspects of art and architecture — from skyscrapers to jewelry. This rich archive depicts a wide range of those designs, incorporated in period textiles, fashions, domestic accessories, and other objects from the 1920s and '30s. The set contains: • One CD-ROM containing 213 high-quality, permission-free illustrations scanned at 600 dpi and saved in six different formats (TIFF, PICT, EPS, BMP, as well as Internet-ready JPEG and GIF) • A large-format 48-page book with every image on the CD-ROM printed large and clearly for easy reference Also included on the CD-ROM is Dover Design Manager, a simple graphics editing program for Windows. Ideal for use in numerous craft and graphic design projects, these distinctive drawings will add a dazzling touch of the Jazz Age wherever they're applied. Read more Read less

  • the images are nice but nothing outstanding
It's okay, the images are nice but nothing outstanding. It's not bad, it's just nothing great.

  • Strangely attractive
My favorite of the various "schools" or "movements" of art is and probably will always be Nouveau; but Deco, which came to prominence in the 1920s and remained more or less "the thing" until the modernist styles of the 50s, can, as shown in this clip-art colletion, be attractive even to those who, like me, prefer the florid curves and luxurious detail of its predecessor. Editor Marty Noble has assembled examples of art ranging from magazine covers, posters, and advertisements to jewelry to printers' marks, fashion design, tableware, ironwork, and patterned cloth. All are cleanly and brightly reproduced and should serve as a good introduction to the Deco style. ... show more

  • I didn't get my CD
I didn't get my CD. The seller said it was advertised without the CD. Seems like everyone else got their CD. Don't take the chance. At the best you will be out your postage.

  • Brilliant Art Deco designs
Have searched wide and far for some decent Art Deco designs. This CD-ROM is brilliant to say the least! It has inspired a group of people who are doing charity work for their decorations for a fundraiser. Great book/CD can absolutely recommend it - great value! Carlie

  • An Excellent Collection
This book was exactly what I needed. It has tons of clip-art from the Art Deco era. I don't know why but it seemed harder for me to find a good compilation of Deco images, than it is to find Art Nouveau.
