  • Good affordable
Tough and fast. Just as good as more expensive brands.

  • Absolute Beast!
Color: Teal
I absolutely love this truck! The speed is unbelievable — it’s easily one of the fastest 1/10 scale trucks I’ve driven, and it delivers that adrenaline rush every time I take it out. The build quality really stands out too. It feels premium thanks to the solid weight and rugged design, which gives me confidence that it can take a beating and keep going. A lot of people mention ESC problems, but I haven’t had a single issue with this one. Everything runs smoothly and consistently, which makes the experience even better. It’s clear that ARRMA put real thought into durability and performance with this model. If you’re looking for an RC truck that combines blistering speed, premium build quality, and reliable performance, the ARRMA VORTEKS 4X4 223S BLX won’t disappoint. ... show more

  • Amazing!
One of my favorite RCs. Extremely durable and fast. running the spectrum 5000mah 50c battery and this thing is a wheelie machine! I get about 30 minutes of battery life as well.

  • Wickedly fun and fast truggies
Color: Teal
These cars are awesome. I bought a yellow/blue for my son and the pink/purple for myself and we have a blast at the park with them. They hold up to quite a bit but manage your expectations, if you're doing flips and tricks with it at a concrete and steel skate park- they're sturdy buy not indestructible. Replacement parts are easily available on many platforms if you drive into a tree or head-on collision with another RC at ~50mph. Aftermarket parts are also readily available, with quite a few cast aluminum replacement options. TL;DR - Great product. A lot of fun. Bought two, would make the same purchase if I had to do it over again ... show more

  • Awesome (the second time)!
The car itself is absolutely awesome, so fast, so tough and super fun! The reason I gave it 4 stars is I had to return the first one as it was a repackaged unit that was a runaway. It would just take off full speed until you caught up to it and disconnected the battery. The replacement car came in the box and then an outer box that is is Arrma logo seal taped. Definitely a factory new unit. Swapping the defective unit for the new one was hassle free with Amazon and only took a couple days. ... show more

  • A Capable and Tough Truck
I've been running RC cars for a few years but never had an Arrma car until recently; I've heard good things about them so I decided to get this Vorteks 4x4 223S BLX. Arrma cars don't come with batteries and this one is in their 223S range which means that you can run it on 2S or 3S; I had two 6600 mAh 3S batteries so that's what I used. Compared to the 1/12 and 1/10 Mini sized cars (e.g. Rlaarlo Omni Terminator which I own) these are heavy cars, the Omni Terminator (claimed as 1/10 mini) weighs 2.23kg and my 1/10 Vorteks weighs 3.58kg (both weights are with batteries fitted) which is 60% more. I've also just bought the Arrma Big Rock 3S and Arrma Granite 4x4 and there's a parts commonality that seems to run through the 1/10 Arrma family; all use a center module that combines the motor mount with either a slipper clutch or a center differential (the Vorteks has a center Diff which has splined drives front and rear which feed power to front and rear Diffs, one for each pair of front and rear wheels. It worries me that all 3 cars come with composite plastic front and rear large Diff gears (the internal and pinion drive gears are all metal) which some people have shredded under heavy use but others claim that these Diffs are dependable. I have bought metal Diff upgrade kits for my Vorteks which allow you to strip down and reassemble your Diffs replacing the plastic gears with a metal main gear and housing. I also bought metal-geared Diffs for the Big Rock. Reasonably priced parts are readily available online from many places including Arrma. I was pleasantly surprised how well the Vorteks drove; the center Diff has very thick oil in it which means that you don't lose much power when the front wheels lift. The Vorteks has a wide and low stance but the stock shock springs seemed a bit weak and there's no screw adjustment, just clips. I had to add 3 clips (supplied) on the rear shocks to get the suspension arms level. I looked for stronger springs but eventually decided to switch out the shocks for a $30 CNC set from Amazon which are way better. Running the Vorteks on 6600 mAh 3S batteries pushes the weight up and I think the stock shocks would probably be fine for 2S use. The electronics are not bad performance-wise, I really liked the ESC's smooth, progressive braking which makes a pleasant whining sound when working; presumably caused by some sort of PWM system. Whatever the technology, the acceleration is outstaning and the braking is smooth and effective for such a heavy car. The Vorteks comes with a 2in 1combined ESC and receiver which makes it more expensive to upgrade; I'd prefer that they used a separate ESC and receiver to allow for simpler upgrades. • Quality RC car.
I have been hesitant to buy an Arrma for a long time, I was worried is was going to be chinese garbage. This is entirely not the case. These are extremely well built and well designed. I really think these are much better than the traxxas comparable rc cars. The bodies and how they attach are way better than traxxas. They are built very solid for bashing. We did manage to break a part but that is expected with this sort of thing but it is holding up way better than the traxxas trucks we are also running. If you are hesitant to buy one like I was, don't, they are worth the money. ... show more
