It’s great for beginners definitely get a lipo battery when you purchase the car don’t wait the battery it comes with is garbage also buy the upgrade boost pack to make it 4x4 you won’t have any fun with this rc unless you make it 4x4 and buy the lipo battery. Got this for my son as an entry level hobbyist rc car. It's got good bones but is pretty basic, I wish I audio upgraded off the get go to a 4x4 with better motor. We're going to upgrade it and my son (12y/o) will have fun installing the new motor, trans, and differential. The NiMh battery doesn't last long so plan to buy new LiPo batteries with a lipo charger. ... show more

I purchased this RC about a year ago or so. I have enjoyed it very much. However, the front shock mount has broke twice, both times, JB welded it. The motor has been replaced twice and now it has seized up again. I converted it to a 4x4, with new 3S esc and upgraded all components including gearing and spurs. It has a 91T gear and while I enjoy it, it only gets used a few times a month due to parts failing. I originally got it for $199.00 I believe, but now I have put close to $700.00 into it and I'm beginning to think i should have went with Traxxas. Says on belly of shell, blast and bash. This RC is more of a truggy than a truck. It's tough, and a decent basher. It's not the fastest, but runs great with NiMH or 2S batteries. The front shocks are a weak point, as they tend to break easily if you hit something just right. But at $20 for a replacement set, and being very easy to work on, it's still a great entry level RC for a budding hobbyist. You can also cut the speed down a little bit if needed to get used to how it handles. It does spin around a lot when you go full blast.
