It’s great for beginners definitely get a lipo battery when you purchase the car don’t wait the battery it comes with is garbage also buy the upgrade boost pack to make it 4x4 you won’t have any fun with this rc unless you make it 4x4 and buy the lipo battery. If you plan on buying this and then upgrading to make it 3s brushless its way cheaper to just buy the blx 3s brushless version. ... show more

Got this for my son as an entry level hobbyist rc car. It's got good bones but is pretty basic, I wish I audio upgraded off the get go to a 4x4 with better motor. We're going to upgrade it and my son (12y/o) will have fun installing the new motor, trans, and differential. The NiMh battery doesn't last long so plan to buy new LiPo batteries with a lipo charger. ... show more

I purchased this RC about a year ago or so. I have enjoyed it very much. However, the front shock mount has broke twice, both times, JB welded it. The motor has been replaced twice and now it has seized up again. I converted it to a 4x4, with new 3S esc and upgraded all components including gearing and spurs. It has a 91T gear and while I enjoy it, it only gets used a few times a month due to parts failing. I originally got it for $199.00 I believe, but now I have put close to $700.00 into it and I'm beginning to think i should have went with Traxxas. Says on belly of shell, blast and bash. This product came used, dirty and missing parts. Bought this as a Christmas gift and it was very disappointing for my son to open it, find that it was dirty and missing parts. Transmitter was missing. The product was not listed as used or missing parts:/
