This is a really lovely dish set! It’s got a really nice creamy color with specs, and a matte finish which is my favorite part. I don’t know if the dishes scratch because I ended up returning due to finding a different set at Costco that was cheaper and I liked a bit better…. BUT it was very hard for me to decide to return them because I just loved the finish on these so much.

The dishes are beautiful. They are a bit heavy, but don't get hot to touch when put in the microwave. I ordered 3 sets and all but 2 dishes were in pristine condition. The chips looks more like transit than manufacturer as they were right on the edge like 2 dishes had clinked together. Amazon customer service was exceptional and sent out a replacement right away. I have these on open shelves and they look amazing against my white backsplash. Speckled Green and Speckled White. The bowl sizes aren't that much different, but I do like having the salad/pasta bowl as an addition.

These dishes are beautiful. They are on the heavier side so I made some felt pads to go in between them so I don’t scratch them putting them away. They have a beautiful red and black finish on them and I am sure they will last a long time if I take care of them. I did buy two sets of the square dishes but, I would like to get a couple more dinner dishes if they offer them. Great purchase

If you like the look of classic, streamlined, well-made and off-white dinnerware, you won't go wrong with this set! We use it on the daily and every piece holds up beautifully. Breakfast, lunch and dinner plus many a dishwasher cycle on high and they still look like brand new. It's well-made with a wonderful assortment (no having to purchase extra, say, cereal bowls that don't come with set like with many other brands.) I purchased a second set for when we have company over for brunches or dinners and find that I can dress it up with minimal effort. An inexpensive napkin ring set, purchased on Amazon as well, and some fabric napkins of your choice and you have a lovely table setting! We haven't had a single piece chip, crack or shatter, but I can't speak for drops onto a hard surface like the floor. LOL! Still, we have a full household with three fur-babies that love to trip their ¨hoomans¨so there is a lot of hustle and bustle, like knocking pieces over and having them tossed haphazardly into the sink...still, not a single crack. Although I still cringe whenever I hear the dreaded sound of porcelain against porcelain and have to run to check for broken dishes. To my surprise and delight, they take a pretty good beating. I hope Amazon will continue to carry these because they are so versatile and classy that I would love to give them as a wedding or Christmas gift! Not only that but since I finally found a dinnerware set that I love, I don't want to have to search for another brand. Amazon? Please don't stop stocking these!

PROS: The first box we received was in good shape and looked new. The Arora box was packaged in an Amazon box with other items so were well protected. The shape of the plates are curved enough to allow them to be picked up easily. They are a little heavy, but not bad. There is a very slight (not obvious) variation in color/design and shape from piece to piece making them unique. Very attractive. We decided to order another set so we could have service for 8. CONS: The second box we received was more obviously varied in color. One small bowl was different in shape and did not stack well in the other bowls of the same size. There were 2 large plates, 1 small plate, and one large bowl that were dirty with food on them indicating they were used and had been returned and repackaged as new. I scraped the food off and the dishwasher removed the rest, but they should have been inspected before repackaging. The listing should also have identified them as used and not sold as new at a new price. Amazon packaged this second order alone in a large box which made the box with the dishes slide around with no protection. Thankfully, Arora triple boxed the dishes and none were chipped or broken. The first order would have received 5 stars, but the second order lowered it to 3 stars.

Arrived packaged well and nothing was broken. I like that there's two different kinds of bowls. The plates have a little bit of a rim so if your dish has sauce it won't spill off. It's a pretty heavy plate as well not thin.
