Based on some of the reviews about sizing, I initially ordered a half-size bigger (9 1/2) than my normal size (9) and found that they were too big. I returned them for my normal size, and they fit perfectly. The boots are marked that size 9 US is size 40 European; I wish that this had been clear in the description, as I would have ordered 9 the first time around. They are super comfortable, with no breaking in period required for me. They are also very versatile--I can dress them up or down, and wear them with or without socks. I had to return the first pair for a larger size. No worries though, Amazon made it easy. I found that my foot just wouldn't go in my regular size. Ordered 1 size up for the 2nd pair and they're super. Striking pattern with great quality materials. Great with jeans for a pop of style.

Update: I returned the first pair and immediately ordered a new pair as I left my shipping location. 2nd pair arrived in an actual Ariat box and boots appear to be new and no rough edges or blemishes this time. Original comments: They really are beautiful boots, let me say that first; but for me I felt as though the quality control just wasn’t there. At $200, I don’t expect to see any scuff marks or unfinished edges on the sole, touches of glue across the toe, anything like that. Even if they had been in perfect condition (which they should’ve been- shame on your Amazon), I felt like the back part of the boot was going to rub my heel too much. Other than the heel stiffness they really were comfortable for the few moments I put them on. I just hate that there were so many little unfinished pieces and parts on them. I am new to this brand but the one other pair I bought was at a store in Nashville last month, the Heritage R toe in black, and they were chef’s kiss. These boots look gorgeous on but the pair I received looked like they’d come from someone else’s home first so maybe that’s why they were scuffed up and I didn’t get a real box and the tag had been ripped off already. Overall disappointed in presentation and in the final product I received. May have to stick to ordering directly from the manufacturer or buying in person when I am near a retailer. ... show more
