  • Best work boot value I've ever had
Size: 12 Color: Distressed Brown
Bought a pair in March 2016. It's almost August 2017 now. Pair is still going strong. I work a demanding outdoors job where I am on gravel, grass, and sand constantly throughout the day. I used to have major issues with gravel in the tread, sand inside the boot from crevices, grass stains, and just sand straight destroying tread. No longer. These boots are amazing. In over the year that I've had them they still fit the same and feel just as comfortable. They have a little wear as all shoes get, but the wear doesn't destroy the boot like it did for several other boots I had. Some tread has peeled off the bottoms and the inside back ankle/heel section has some padding worn through, but it's not noticeable to me. Even more is I'm still using the stock shoe insert. I was able to move my cushioned inserts to my running shoes since these boots were so comfortable on their own. I have worn these boots 5-6 days a week since receiving them from Amazon. If you are looking for nice looking boots that feel comfortable and last, then this is a solid choice. Costing between $70-$100 is just icing on the cake. Phenomenal value. Must buy. ... show more

  • Made for horse riding, great for motorcycling
Size: 8 Color: Cordovan
I been looking for high topped shoes to wear while motorcycle riding. I've actually bought and returned several pairs and couldn't seem to find a really good fit. I wear 8m or slightly wider. I also have a high arch, or instep, which prevents me from getting my foot into most slip-ons. I think I may be over reading or over analyzing the reviews, trying to guess if I should go up or down in size, with no luck. Most of the Ariat Terrain reviews said it was true to size, so I an 8m and they felt good the first time I put it on. My foot felt secure and my the ankles seem protected. Ariat's were designed for horse riders, but I find they are the best motorcycle shoes I've had in years. I've only had them a week, and have only ridden a few hundred miles wearing them, but they seem to add to my riding enjoyment. There is a waterproof version, but these aren't. However, I'm a fair weather rider anyway. I like the look, I like the feel, and they seem well made. I like the thin layer of extra protection on the toe and heal since I'm a bit clumsy and scrape up most of my shoe. Also, I like a defined heal, it helps my foot stay in place on the motorcycle pegs, and the shank in the middle of the sole make having you feet on foot pegs (rubber covered pipes) a lot more comfortable. They are very reasonable priced, I will recommend them to everyone interested in a high top shoe. I had a chance to wear the Ariat's while walking around a couple of days. Actually is was some walking and a lot standing in place. The wear very comfortable. The high arch footbed in many shoes hurt my feet. I'm fairly flat footed and it seems all my weight is concentrated in the arch. So, some people might feel there is a lack of support ... show more

  • Wider than normal
Size: 10.5 Color: Cordovan
I like my boots and shoes to have a little extra space inside which helps control foot pain. I normally use size 11.0. I noticed theses boots in a local store and tried them on. I liked them but the size 11 was too large and they didn't have 10.5. Then I decided to check Amazon. With their Wardrobe return policy I was able to try several pair and return what didn't appear to fit well. I ordered 4 pairs. The terrain pro H2o seemed heavy to me so they would be the first choice to return. I also ordered a terrain 10.5 W, a terrain 10.5 D and a terrain H20 10.5 D. The terrain 10.5D seemed tight. I decided to start out wearing the 10.5D H20 which seemed to fit quite well. After a day my feet were not happy. The insoles in these boots has a raised area what they call a Metatarsal Strike Zone which was very uncomfortable. I quickly changed the insoles for some Keen Utility insoles I had which were much more comfortable. As the week went on I noticed that the terrain 0.5D H2o's I was wearing kept getting larger so my feet were swimming. I couldn't tighten the laces further so they are definitely wider now than when I started a week earlier meaning they stretched. So I also returned the terrain 10.5 W. I kept the 10.5 D terrain which seemed narrow at first suspecting they will probably stretch. All in all the boots are comfortable so I give them 4 stars. To get 5 stars the insoles would have to be comfortable and they should not stretch. ... show more

  • Excellent Boots!
Size: 11 Wide Color: Distressed Brown
I've gone thru 10 pairs of shoes / boots on Amazon trying to find a pair that fit and feel "just right". These are the best I've found. Excellent heel and arch support. Easy to get on. You can even get your finger in the pull tab - a rarity as most brands have made them so small they are not useful at all. Overall an excellent buy for the money IMO. My advice - stick with a brand that has some control over their design and production instead of just buying a shoe and slapping their name on it. ... show more

  • poorly made, on purpose
Size: 10.5 Wide Color: Distressed Brown
When I bought these about two years ago, they looked well made, but, NOT. There actually is no leather shoe under those black toe coverings. And the first thing that went bad on the shoes were those black toe protectors, cracked, curled, deteriorated and allowed any mosture etc, such as grass dew, rain puddles, anything wet to go right into the show. I looked there is no leather under that sewn on to protector. Pitiful. Beware ... show more

  • Great buy!

I have worn this boot brand and style for several years and always happy with the fit. Most comfortable boot and easy to break in boot. The fit is always spot on
