  • Perfect!
Size: 9 Color: Antiqued Grey
For the money, I have not seen a better boot. These are out of the box comfortable, well made, and have a subtle, rustic charm that is hard to find in a world of ostentatious western wear.

  • Totally happy with the boots / My spin on size selection for Rambler
Size: 8 Wide Color: Earth/Brown Bomber
First off the boots look and feel fantastic and are well made. The soft flexible upper and outside seams make them very comfortable. My college frat boy son is 21 and he went crazy over them and wants a pair exactly like them. Ok for the size issue. The Rambler has a square toe which is about a half size more room in the toe area, than the size would be normally. I wear a 9 D in all my casual and/or tennis shoes, but all my dress shoes are either a 8 ½ D or 8 ½ E. I also have a pair of Dan Post snake skin boots from the 80s and they are 8 ½ D as well. So if you are like me and wear a couple different sizes, base your purchase on a dress shoe size….then adjust. Now, for picking the size. Like I said, I based the size on my dress shoe size of 8 ½ D, then I ordered ½ size smaller and with the EE (8EE). I was really concerned with ordering the 8 EE, but saw too many reviews saying to step down ½ size and get the wide EE. I have never worn an 8 in any shoe, but it was a perfect snug fit with long dress socks. Wore them around the house inside so I could return them if I had to. Well after three days, they are really feeling good, still a little snug on arch on my left foot but not to and extreme. They don’t look or feel like a size 8 either, they look like a size 9 or larger from the appearance. So I agree with other on the Rambler: ½ size down and EE is perfect. ... show more

  • good boot, run large, comfortable, but ...
Size: 9 Color: Antiqued Grey
I ordered my usual shoe size and the boots were too large. I went down a half size and it's a perfect fit. The "antiqued grey" if you do any online shopping, appear to be different colors depending on what website you are viewing. In person, they appear to have like a base coat of brown with a tint of grey, creating a very nice although faux weathered look. Coupled with the distressing Ariat does make the boot look worn and broke in. I'm guessing, but the distressing may create a unique pair each and every time. For instance my left boot varies from my right. Overall, my first pair of Ariat's and first impression is very good. Once finding the proper fit and a short break in period, the boots are comfortable and look great. Finally, I regretted learning they were made in China.... ... show more

  • Finally can wear boots again
Size: 13 Wide Color: Antiqued Grey
I have had injuries to both legs and have had both rebuilt. This has caused my shoe size to change from a 12 to a 13W. Boots were particularly difficult for me, as my ankles no longer had the flexibility to navigate into the boot. I still cannot wear any of the taller boots, particularly with a riding heel, but these ropers from Ariat have been great. The uppers on the boot are no reinforced, so they have a lot of flexibility and give. The boots themselves are very comfortable. It is amazing how much more comfortable boots are now compared to 30 years ago. I still have to use boot hooks to get them on, due to my injuries, but they slide on pretty well and I don't have much in the way of slippage once they are on. To be honest, I enjoyed the first pair I bought so much that I bought another pair, same style, different color. I heartily recommend these boots. Even if you don't have mobility issues, they will feel great, and if you think you can't wear western boots any longer because of injury or mobility, give these a try. ... show more

  • Instep Makes Putting On Boots Hard. UPDATE 8/31/17
Size: 15 Color: Earth/Brown Bomber
This is the first pair of Ariat boots I have bought. These boots are sweet and they look great! I ordered the earth brown color size 15D. My other pair of boots are a size 16D and they fit a little large so I decided to go with a 15D because Ariat's have been known to run big and Amazon recommended I get a 15D. In running shoes, I wear a 16-17 depending on the brand and I'm 6'5 and my feet are not considered wide. When I put the boots on, it is really hard to put them on and to slide my foot in. I have to wiggle my foot and pull really hard on the pull straps to get them on. Once they are on, the instep is a bit tight, but the length and overall size is good and my foot feels secure and comfortable in my boots (besides the instep being kind of tight). I am hoping the more I wear them the looser they will become and the easier they will be to put on. Surprisingly, it is easy to take them off. I like the feel of the shaft being all leather. I always wear ankle socks and so far I have not experienced and uncomfortable rubbing, scraping, or discomfort. I am giving these boots 3 stars because they are hard to put on. Otherwise, they are great looking boots and the color is a little lighter than the picture in the ad. I will try to update this review as I "break in" these boots. UPDATE 8/31/17 It took over a month but I can finally put these boots on without using a shoe horn. They are more broken in and they feel good. I changed this review to 4 stars from 3 because they fit better now but they are still tight on the top of my foot and still somewhat hard to put on. These boots are still badass and I get compliments on them all the time! ... show more
