  • Fun and powerful, with a couple caveats
RAM Memory Size: 4.0 GB Memory Storage Capacity: 32.0 GB
This board has plenty. It's easy to communicate with the MCU, and the Led matrix is a cool plus. It is powerful enough to run a vision model. I'm using it for vision classification and servo control. Maybe it's me, but I say go with the 4/32 version if your doing AI stuff. I do have a couple gripes that you should be aware of. First, everything runs through that usb c... I really wish it had a separate power jack. I ran through two hubs, one expensive, one mid range, both good brands, but PD negotiation failed and the board would boot loop. It just wants 5V, but the chip demands PD... So, I ended up using a simple PD pass through splitter to get the webcam to work. Afaict, there is no hub compatibility documentation (wtf). The other gripe is Applab... It works, don't get me wrong, and has a few getting started demo projects. But...it wants you to update the firmware when you set it up, and I lost the WiFi connection to the board. I purged the app (it has some errant dirs), but no-go. USB still worked fine. Fourms I read showed no real workaround. Maybe it doesn't happen to everyone, but my computer hates it. Surely this will be fixed. Now, it's not a show stopper, it is set up with ssh enabled, so no issues getting wifi shell on the board through cmd. I've moved on without applab, and love the board. Just find it annoying that the two things they lean into with the marketing didn't work for me (usb hub-based SBC and applab). But, I really need to underline that this is a solid piece of hardware. Well, and one more point about applab because I still use it, sorta. I think that they leaned into the super minimalist gui in the app to be beginner-friendly, but there are zero menus or configs exposed and that annoyed me. It does have a shell that works easily to get into the board, and most of the apps download just fine. ... show more

  • Arduino® UNO™ Q 4GB is an excellent single board computer
RAM Memory Size: 4.0 GB Memory Storage Capacity: 32.0 GB
I'm an embedded developer, primarily using Arduino, Espressif ESP-IDF, and MicroPython tools to program single board computers and microcontroller boards, most of which I've purchased on Amazon. I have now purchased four of the Arduino UNO Q 4GB (which I'll refer to as Q4s below) boards for my personal use. When I recieved my first board, I installed Arduino App Lab 0.4.0 on my Linux Mint system, then used that to configure the first Q4 board. I had no setup problems whatsoever. Documentation is excellent and reasonably up-to-date. The Debian Linux that comes pre-installed on these boards was immediately and automatically updated. Once the Q4 was updated I was able to log into the Q4's shell directly via USB, or remotely via SSH. I had no problems either way. Over time Arduino App Lab has updated to 0.5.0, and then again to its current version of this review, to 0.6.0. With each update App Lab (and Q4) has become more polished. And because it's in the UNO form factor, the Q4 is compatible with other UNO hats and external devices that I own. The Q4, in my not-so-humble-opinion, is a much better value than the equivalent Raspberry Pi 4 or 5. I peg the performance of the Q4 somewhere between the Pi 4 and the Pi 5. I have purchased and used Pi 4s and Pi 5s in the past, when they were still "affordable" as single board computers, but I switching to the Q4 for systems that need embedded Linux. If I don't need Linux then I'll use embedded microcontroller boards and MicroPython or C++ to program directly to the silicon. I've read the harsh criticisms of the Arduino UNO Q when it was first released a year ago, but those criticisms no longer apply, and have not applied for some time. Arduino has worked very hard to fix the problems and evolve the platform. The Arduino UNO Q is now a powerful, polished, cost-effective alternative to Raspberry Pi, and looks to remain so for quite some time. ... show more

  • Great New Board
RAM Memory Size: 4.0 GB Memory Storage Capacity: 32.0 GB
This new UNO from Qualcom and Arduino opens up a lot of possibilities. Good docs online. Form factor is the same as other UNO boards. Difference is that the Linux side is fully accessible through software Bridge. Docs say that terminal access to Linux provides means to write C+ or Python code to run in Linux. The only thing lacking thus far is a powered hub that will work with the board (can't use Apple type hubs) so cameras and keyboard/mice devices along with HDMI monitor can be added, turning the Q into a single board computer. ... show more

  • Arduino nunca nos decepcionará
RAM Memory Size: 4.0 GB Memory Storage Capacity: 32.0 GB
... show more

The arduino project program flashed uncontrollably when trying to work on selected projects. Then I had to reset the unit and avoid update the program. Once I did that it worked without issue!!

  • New bottle, new drink, old label!
RAM Memory Size: 4.0 GB Memory Storage Capacity: 32.0 GB
It looks like an Arduino UNO. says it’s an Arduino UNO but it’s as far from Arduino UNO that we come to love as it can be. The software stack and programming workflow is entirely different from any Arduino UNO you’ve known and the learning curve is pretty steep. The onboard software development environment is OK. Its friendly and powerful but not familiar and not fast given its running on the UNO itself. I have no idea who they made this device for and what did they had in mind throwing away decades of ecosystem around Arduino UNO and the workflow. The people who buy Arduino usually have a computer. Asking them to move the monitor and keyboard from computer to the Arduino directly just messes with the workflow. If I needed another Linux computer I would have bought an RPI, not Arduino. I guess it’s a fun device, but I am not moving from Arduino UNO R3 and others which have a very predictable workflow. ... show more
