I was looking for a travel blanket for camping and hotel usage as I’m not always a fan of the blankets at some hotels. Used it for the first time at a hotel and I’m pretty confident this would hold up in mild cold weather. Think 40-50s if you are a hot sleeper. Not only did this blanket keep me warm, never once did I get too hot like a normally do. For reference, even in the winter I like my room at about 50-55 degrees because I will sweat. Now, pros and cons. Pros- not smell when opening, heavy enough to keep you warm while not getting too hot. Big enough for me (5ft4/166lbs) to wrap up and have extra room. To me it wasn’t itchy or felt like it was made from a cheap material. Con: it does pill but it is a wool blanket and I’ve never had one not pill.

My husband ordered this color and I tried to cancel and order the gray one. Couldn't do it in time and when I received both the brown and the gray I decided to keep them both as they are Great. Made very well and light enough that I know they will be comfortable for the upcoming cold weather. And they will last for many generations. They actually look like cashmere. Well worth the purchase.

I have been searching for a good, sturdy dense blanket for 3 years-FINALLY I found one! Due to a…”medical miscalculation” I’m having an issue where my femurs are “displaced”, causing my hip joints to not function. As a result, I’m having to sleep in a recliner. But, I’ve always had a thing about being “secure” w/ substantial covers-year round-a thin blanket won’t do, even in summer. As a result, I’ve been sleeping w/ 3, yes THREE, throws, because I can’t find 1 single blanket that has been dense enough, yet manageable in the chair —I even tried a children’s weighted blanket. But even a 5-7lb weighted toddler blanket is too hard to wrangle out of for a late night “pilgrimage”. The 3 throws work, weight/thickness wise, but to get up (remember, my hip joints don’t function-I can’t squirm or wiggle), I have to roll the 3 throws together, so that when I get back in my chair, all I have to do is unroll them. This is a huge issue when I’m in a rush to get started on my late night “pilgrimages”. Anyway, after years of searching, I saw this blanket-it’s described as “think & heavy”-I’ve been duped by those very words many times, but I decided to try it, based on reviews…I LOVE THIS BLANKET!!! For the first time in YEARS, I’ve been able to sleep w/ just 1 blanket! While not too heavy to get out from under, it is a very dense weave-it’s thick enough to squash the vulnerable feeling I’ve had since I was a baby, I need, pretty much, a “security blanket”. We live in the humid south-our AC runs nonstop-this is perfect for sleeping in a cool room, but still being cozy. Perfect weight & density, but a good size/weight for managing in a recliner. I bought 2 & plan on buying 2 more for family members-not scratchy, great texture. Buy one-you will LOVE it!!

This review is from someone who used to think that I hated wool. My husband bought this blanket and had me wrap up in it while we watched an episode of Alone. It was winter and he likes to keep the house colder than I find comfortable. After a few minutes, I felt as if the blanket had heated up so much that it felt like when I had used electric heating blankets in the past. I was amazed. I had no idea that wool really would warm up and insulate so well. This blanket has led me on a newfound love/obsession with wool. I now want wool everything. Wool socks, wool shirts, wool coats, etc. I keep this blanket on my bed almost at all times and I love that it keeps me warm even in the winter naturally without having the cost and risk of a plug in electric blanket. From someone who used to hate wool. I love wool now and this blanket is worth it. It fits on top of our queen bed (it doesn't hang down over the edges though).
