This is the 3rd coat I bought from this company. The first one came with a broken button but wasn't a big deal but then zipper broke and we couldn't zip the coat anymore. I ended up buying a whole new coat. The second coat kept ripping inside the arms at the seams, but I sewed it and it held up. So, I bought the next size up because he grew.... the same thing keeps happening except now its also on the outside of the coat. This coat isn't cheap and it honestly felt pretty well made when we bought the first one. I'm not even going to pass the smaller coat down to my 2nd son. I'm throwing them both out. What a waste of money!!

So my son is a tall 8 year old but slim he normally wears a 12/14, I looked at the size chart which suggested that a 27-inch waist would be large. I sized it up to an X large which is a 29 waist and it arrived today. An extra-large is size 18/20 I automatically thought that it would be way too big but it wasn't. It actually fits which lets me know that it runs small. Overall quality is ok, not I'm not sure how it's going to hold up to Michigan weather but we shall see. It is an attractive coat!

My son has a slender but long build. It fits him very well. True to size. He wears an 8 in clothes so I got him a small (8). Great fit. Check the size chart because it IS different then a Walmart or Target size Small. We went snowboarding in it and he stayed warm and dry. The material is very waterproof. We got the white camo print and he loves it. Its a unique print and color scheme so not likely to get mixed up with other kids at school! We bought the matching bibs and LOVE those. Not only does it have the fleece bib, it has an adjustable waist for my long and lean 8 year old!. His little sister is not as lean and we tried these on her. The fit wasn't as good but we could make it work. If you have a shorter child for their size or a stockier child I would recommend trying before you buy, or get the husky size as those worked for my Daughter. Update: also Got in a Medium 10/12 (son is wearing a 10 shirt 12 pants for length) for the following year, and he wants it in a large now.... Same pattern and all.... We spend hours snowboarding in Wisconsin each week, which means his butt is sitting in the snow at the beginning of each run and its never cold or wet, even after 8 hours!

Amazon wants me to mention that this is a lightweight jacket. It is NOT so don’t worry! It is a normal weight jacket for skiing, snowboarding or just being in the winter weather. My teen boy is 5’8 and slender. I got XL. Fits perfectly even with a sweatshirt underneath. Kept him warm skiing in 5 degrees snowy windy conditions. The bright green with the blue sleeves is great because I can easily spot him on the slopes. It’s not a kiddy pattern so he still looks cool. I took away one star because there is no inside pockets and no zippered pockets! But he had zippers on his pants so he survived. I also would have liked a detachable hood. When you are skiing and it’s snowing you don’t want the hood to fill up with snow. Its a great jacket for the money and Amazon also wants me to mention that it’s durable. And it is!! I’m not lying!

Note that this product listing slaps about 8 or so different jackets and pants, making it difficult to determine what reviews are for what piece of clothing! This review is for the orange slalom jacket, size XL I am not a fan of this world of buying clothing for your kids online. We just came from a sporting goods store and they had maybe one jacket that fit him, but it cost $280. For a jacket he'll wear maybe 6 times... yeah forget about that! OK, I'll give Amazon a try... Anyways, my kid is 5'7" tall and relatively skinny. This XL size fits him pretty well, but I doubt will fit him next year. The jacket seems oddly proportioned--it is long in the torso, but the arms feel like they could be longer. If he grows out of this next year it will be because his arms are too long. Quality is alright, and the hood fits decently (big heads run in our family). I hate spending a lot on winter gear that we use 3-4 times a year before the kids grow out of it. For the price, this seems like a decent deal. I wouldn't have picked this up in a store and said "this is the one!" though.

Purchased for my son who is always complaining he's cold, not anymore with this coat! It is warm!!! Easy to wash and keeps him dry when he's playing outside in the snow. I love that they had matching snow pants which I ordered as well. I would definitely recommend.

We were excited about this jacket for our 4yo. We placed an order which kept getting delayed so I ended up reordering and had it shipped to another address which it delivered within one day. So not sure what happened there? Not the reason for my bummed experience. We got this for my 4yo for a ski trip. The jacket fit him perfectly and I felt he could move around easily and wasn’t too stiff. He wore it for only two days one was at ski school, the other was just a couple hours playing in the snow. When we got home I wash all of our ski clothing and place in a space saving back for the “next time”. I followed the washing directions which are pretty straightforward and when I pulled it out of the wash there is a hole near the button as seen on the photo. Now I would expect something like this after hard play or long wear or multiple washes. But this happened after two wears and one wash. Super bummed about it! I would hope this is kind of a one off situation but not sure if I would take my chances again with this one. The color was awesome and like I said before the fit was great but the quality is questionable unfortunately.

Coat is falling apart at the seams, literally. The seam in the armpit has come apart. We purchased it in September, 2022 and it didn't last through February, 2022. We are now having to hand stitch it back together just to get through one winter.

Jacket feels substantial and warm. However, after the first wash, a button already broke from the pocket. I had to stitch over it to cover some sharp pieces of metal protruding from it. The fit is true to size. Got a medium for thin 10 yr old and it fits with a little room to spare for layering.
