  • It fit in my case!
Style: Freezer 34 eSports DUO Color: White
I have this installed in a Thermaltake Versa H17 case on a Ryzen 2600. My temps were over 70c while runing prime95 with the stock cooler. With this, I can overclock all the cores to 4.0Ghz and the temperature stays below 64 the entire time I run prime95. It was easy to install and took me less than 5 minutes. I didn't even remove my motherboard from the case. My computer is nearly silent all the time now. Worth the price for sure. The info I found online states that this cooler is 157mm tall. My case, the Versa H17, lists a maximum cpu cooler height of 155mm. I took a chance and tried this thing out anyway. It fits just fine. I had no problem at all getting the side of the case back on with this cooler installed. There is still some room between the cooler and the side of the case. ... show more

  • Not Compatible with MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max Motherboard
Style: Freezer 34 Color: Black
Researched before purchase particularly on You Tube video from Arctic on "Arctic Freezer 34 and Freezer 34 CO - Installation on AMD AM4" and on the Arctic website to make sure compatible. Then tried to install on MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max AMD AM4 Motherboard. Arctic indicates you use the backplate supplied with the motherboard which is in the first picture (note the raised screw holes). Then Arctic provides 4 standoffs (different types - I tried the ones for AMD and even the others when they wouldn't work) that screw into the holes in the backplate on the other side of the motherboard, 2 brackets that support the metal heatsink by going on top of the standoffs, and 4 thumbnuts that supposedly screw on top of the standoffs which are meant to secure the heatsink brackets. First of all, if you look at the raised screw holes on the backplate, when this is mounted on the back of the motherboard, they still extend a significant amount on the mounting side of the motherboard. When you screw in the standoffs, they do not compensate for the protruding screw holes - therefore the mount is loose due to the remaining space between the bottom of the standoffs and the mounting side of the motherboard (hard to see but in second picture can see space between motherboard mounting surface and bottom of standoff). That means the mount is incompatible with this AM4 motherboard. Arctic should have supplied their own backplate to be flush with the mounting side of the motherboard or supplied some kind of washers to be placed between the motherboard and the standoff so it would not result in a loose mount. They did not. Second, just to see if anything could be solved by putting the heatsink on top of the standoffs, what I also discovered is that the thread on the tops of the standoffs that go into the mounting bracket is insufficient to screw on the thumbnuts more than a small amount (the third picture). So even if the standoff problems were not an issue, the mount would still not be very secure. Bottom line is this cpu cooler is NOT compatible with the MSI B450 Gaming Plus AMD4 Motherboard. I will return this with much disgust over the waste of time due to the poor attention to detail by Arctic in designing a cpu cooler for this motherboard. While MSI doesn't make it easy with the badly designed backplate, it is up to Arctic to design around it or inform the consumer on any incompatibilities. As mentioned, providing a simple flat backplate bracket and longer threaded standoffs (on the top of the standoffs) would have solved all these problems easily. This is not uncommon though for cpu coolers though. Most of them are poorly designed for mounting and are have cheap construction. I have to wonder if any of these manufacturers have ever used their products. ... show more

  • Aesthetically pleasing with performance to match
Style: Freezer 34 eSports DUO Color: White
I purchased this cooler to replace the stock cooler on my Ryzen 5 2600 which was getting a bit loud during long gaming sessions. I researched all the popular coolers, and finally settled on this one because it fit the looks of my build (black and white). While I was happy with it's looks, I did not expect my temps to drop as much as they did. During idle my temps dropped 12-14c and equally the same during gaming, and the best part? It is nearly silent! Will probably replace my case fans with artic fans as they look great and will match my cooler. So why the 4 star review? Well I believe the packaging of the hardware could be improved. I got a bag with screws and standoffs for adapters, and at first glance they all look very similar. It would help if those standoffs were separated in small zip lock bags labeled for the appropriate socket. Most people don't refer to the manual, and it would be unfortunate if someone installed the wrong standoffs and possibly damaged their system. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this cooler, and will personally recommend it to my friends. Now on to some overclocking..... ... show more

  • Great cooler terrible fan and customer service
Style: Freezer 34 eSports Color: White
First the cooler is great but the fan that came with it makes awful noise at anything above 80%. Loud whine and a vibration noise. I filled out a ticket with Arctic support and had a response back in 3 days saying they would replace the fan. Ok, no problem I then responded back to them with the requested information. 10 days go by and they close the ticket with no response letting me know if they shipped the fan or even if they are going to. I then reopened the ticket asking if what I provided was sufficient and if they are going to ship a new fan. It is now a week later and nothing from them at all. I also have two 140mm fans that are made by Arctic and one of them has started making a terrible noise. Never again will I purchase anything from Arctic with the response time and issues I'm having. Edit 1: I ordered a replacement through Amazon (due to Arctic taking so long) and the second one arrived on 4/3/2020. The second one the fan is not as loud but still has a loud whining noise at certain rpm's. I believe I'm going to return this cooler only because of the fan being so loud. The cooler itself is great just beware of the fans that come with it. ... show more
