I bought this welder because I had friends recommend arccaptain products to me but when I went to test it, it did not live up to expectations. Mig and flux welds decently with it but when it comes to stick, it doesn’t hold a steady bead. I tried changing the stinger and ground and still it would not weld properly. I would definitely recommend buying a different welder.

really it is hard to say anything bad about this unit for the price...... its nice and small and lightweight so it is somewhat portable ........ much easier to get from point a to point b than a full sized welder..... im no pro and i got this so i could tinker and learn..... and so far i am pretty happy with it..... pretty easy to get started as it included everything you need to get started...... great kit for the price and hard to find a flaw in it for the price range

I never had to fix a machine right out of the box . But if your trigger doesn't work. .. on my machine the wires on the control board was NOt Plugged on . I wasted little time .. thanks Other wise for first time flux ,not to bad . .. also 3 days late on your promise time . Is not that good.

Works well on wire feed on 120 volt, but need 220 for the stick welding. Meets my needs. Good value for the money

Practical looking Welder, fit and finish seems to be good – mostly metal wire feed mechanism is a nice touch; power cord, and the leads needed to be a bit longer like 8' minimum (instead of 6' - 6'-6"), electrode holder and ground are chintzy, with small dinse connection (10-25) – electrode holder also doesn't have indentation/grooves to restrain the electrodes. Wire welding process (Flux Core) works decent up to105 IPM on a 20amp breaker /110v supply and better at 160 IPM on 30amp/220v, but when it comes to Stick welding process neither 20amp/110v nor 30amp 220 is sufficient especially a 7018 (but you might get somewhere with 6013 but with higher than recommended amps) – as per the manual some 50amp input current is needed with is very disappointing.
