  • I love them!
I have several of the Arcade1up small scale game cabinets and I love them all. The smaller size means I can put them in more spaces in my home but they still play and feel fine like a larger full size cabinet. The older classic games are still a lot of fun to play and are made to appeal to we old(er) people who remember these games from when they were brand new. The artwork is nice, the construction is solid and while they take a while to assemble they are not too difficult to piece together. The quality of the buttons, joystick, and other control deck elements are not as good as Japanese game decks, but they work well enough. I suspect they won't take a lot of abuse like a commercial cabinet would but I have not had any problems with any of them. These are all a big hit when company comes over and interestingly, the younger kids and teens seem to like them a lot too. What's old has become new again! I wish that applied to me as well. ... show more

  • Excellent quality and lots of fun!
I enjoy this Arcade1up machine very much. As others have said it comes with the riser and lit marquee. I actually owned the real machine about 8 years ago - I still miss it, but I was glad to get the reproduction by Arcade1up. The screen looks great even at oblique angles and all the games play well. You can turn smoothing on or off based on your preference. The wifi connection allows you to share scores and keep the machine updated. Fast MS Pac-Man and fast shoot Galaga top it off well. I wish they had included Pac-Man with it, but overall I am very satisfied with my purchase. ... show more

  • Difficult Assembly at times, packaging excellent, damaged box, not damaged inside.
I love these. I have now assembled three different ARCADE 1UP cabinets. I love all three. Each of the three I assembled had the correct number of parts and was not damaged at all during shipping. In each case the boxes, externally, showed a fair amount of damage, but inside, there was no damage. Always check to make sure the factory seal is unbroken, if it is broken, send it back. The box may look to you as if has been re-taped, but only a broken seal will tell you if it has been opened. In each case, I was pleasantly surprised to find pristine new parts inside the box. This is the best one so far. The instructions however did leave out important details. (Given the Price of these cabinets and the finished quality, I would not hesitate to buy another one of these. I feel they are much more valuable to me than the price paid.) 1. It shows only one side of the film being removed from the "DECK PROTECTOR"; both sides still needed to be removed. The "DECK PROTECTOR" needs to be slid out from the light bar and you must still "REMOVE PROTECTIVE FILMS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE DECK PROTECTOR" after which it needs to be slid back under inside the light bar. It is possible this should have been done at the factory, it however was not. Using a flashlight one can easily determine if this important step needs to be completed. 2. Of the three of these Arcade 1Up cabinets I have assembled, two of them had debris and/or dirt under the display "screen protecter" I had to remove the screws and blow clean air under the protector on one of them and on the other I had to fully remove the protector and clean the inside surface with glass cleaner, I used "Sprayway", Glass Cleaner and bounty paper towels. On this particular one I did not need to clean inside, but, I did remove the screws one at a time to remove the remainder of the protective film that was left behind after removal. (Note: removing the screws and/or screen protector is risky, because it invites the risk of damaging the screen protector, with your screwdriver and introducing even more debris under the protector. Note: any damage you cause by performing this will not be covered under warranty!!) 3. The screws to secure the cabinet to the riser are not good enough as far as I am concerned. However, I understand why they didn't pre-drill the holes in the cabinet. I used a drill to drill 1/4 inch holes through both cabinets and I used 1/4 inch hardware (2" long) to secure with washers, nuts and bolts. One needs to lay the cabinet over on its back 'after' drilling and 'after' inserting the bolts to secure the nuts on the inside from the bottom. (Drilling needs to happen while it is upright!) ... show more

  • No riser when it clearly states it comes with a matching riser!
Very easy to follow instructions made it easy to assemble. Plays and feels like just like the original!

  • Exceeded my price-based expectations
Maybe the packaging has been changed since the time of the negative reviews about damaged components. My arcade game arrived in pristine condition. Each piece was individually protected with stretch-wrap so they could not rub against each other in transit. Further, pieces were packaged in sub-boxes as needed to protect smaller / electronic parts. I should also note that the cabinet is not made from cardboard, as has been suggested, but is MDF (or is it HDF – I cannot tell them apart) and is the same material used to make flat-pack furniture. Which reminds me: If you can assemble an Ikea bookcase, you will have no problem assembling your machine. There were a couple nice surprises which I did not realize. First: the machine came with a 12” riser. I am glad I did not waste $50 - $80 on a third-party riser. The included riser is themed to match the rest of the cabinet. I did not notice the lighted marquee until I unpacked it. Also, there is a light-up deck protector with RGB LEDs so you can choose your own color. Tip on the deck protector: The instructions do not mention that there is a protective film on BOTH sides of the protector. Save yourself trouble and remove both sides of film before installing the deck. It is not obvious until you turn on the light. I did have an opportunity to try their support. I could not connect my machine to WiFi because it requires the password to be 10, 26, or 58 characters long and my password is not one of those lengths. Support replied with an answer in less than 24 hours (not too bad). Unfortunately, the best they could do is say that maybe a future update will fix that WiFi limitation. My workaround was to use my phone as a hotspot and set the password to 10 characters. There was a software update that I downloaded and applied, so it might be a good idea to connect to the Internet at least once in a while. The other use for Internet access is the global leader board. That is depressing: “Oh look, there is my rank way down at 5523.” Sure this is not an arcade-quality machine, but it is perfectly acceptable for residential use. I would say it is better quality than I was expecting for the price. Oh, and about game play: It is exactly like I remember from 40 years ago. A nice feature is the ability to adjust the settings of the games. Start with 5 Ms. Pacmen instead of 3? Yes, please. Lower the points to a bonus ship in Galaga? Yes, again. ... show more
