This is a very basic additional to my cookware. I had a chantal casserole that cracked when my husband added water to it. I've found corningware to be almost indestructible, so ordered this as a replacement. It is heavy, cooks evenly and cleans beautifully. Years ago, I had a Corning French White baking dish about this size that I adored, but I lost it to my divorce. You can't keep everything, I suppose. I have been searching for the replacement for a while, and I finally found this one. The handles seem to be an improvement, and I like the slightly oval shape better than the oblong for things like roast chicken.     • Great Baking Dish
This is a great baking dish to make a large dinner casserole. It's actually deep enough to make a good sized Shepherd's Pie or Lasanga. I had to send mine back because it was broken when it arrived due to being on the bottom of the box with air cushioning on top of it but I will be buy a new one.

Corningware French White is great stuff, I have a lot of it. So far I've had to return two of this item because Amazon cannot get it delivered in one piece. I'm now concerned that maybe the high standards Corningware is known for have been lowered. Does it really break so easily?

This is a beautiful dish that my wife really wanted. I read the reviews about how many orders arrived in more than one piece. well more than two if you are counting on having a sleeve included, which I was, but did not get. The item was shipped from Bealls and not from Amazon. The box was of a flimsy cardboard with two small pieces of bubble wrap inside. The dish itself did not come in its own box, rather it was just allowed to bang around inside the shipping box. There was not enough padding and the dish arrived broken. ... show more

I bought the Corningware 1105936 French White 3qt/2.85L Oblong Ceramic Casserole Bakeware Dish for my son for his new house. I thought it was the same size as my Corningware casserole dish but this one seems small. I do like the handles and it's lighter in weight than my older dish.
