This sweater fit exactly as expected from fit of other clothing I own from other brands. It's very warm, cuts the wind well, and feels like it has a very personal touch from the company (Aran Crafts) that makes it. Unlike most wool sweaters, this wool still has the sheep's natural oils in it. It smells exactly like you're on a farm, which I love. The natural oils kept because it makes the sweater more water resistant. There are complaints by others about it being itchy, which is expected of wool, and I'd say this wasn't as itchy as they made it out to be. Maybe I'm less sensitive to it, but it was light-to-mild. Highly recommend this sweater! Excellent product and excellent company.

If you are looking for a traditional wool fisherman’s sweater, this is as close as you will get without having one lovingly hand knit. The complaints regarding the “itchiness” of the wool are from people that don’t actually know what REAL wool sweaters are like. This is absolutely not a sweater meant to wear against the skin. This is meant to be worn essentially as a very easy to move around in coat. The complaints regarding the knit being too loose are from people that don’t understand what a hand knit garment is like. This isn’t a machine knit sweater. This is made on a knitting machine; that’s a very important distinction. The seemingly loose knit is actually how it is MEANT to be. The gauge is intentional because it allows to garment to insulate and breathe properly while also having a good stretch to it. I’ve been knitting over 30 years. I have *never* really liked the sweaters I buy. I always knew I could make it better, but decided that it was worth paying for an inferior sweater because I didn’t need to spend the hours to make it myself. I’ll wear my sweater over a thermal top, under my bibs in fall for subfreezing temperatures. In extreme cold I’ll add an insulated flannel and vest over the top.

Very impressed with how well these are made. Best sweater money I have spent! 5'10 155 and a medium fits well. I could see even going small for a trimmer look. Something to note, sizing seems variable. The M oatmeal I ordered is a much tighter knit and shorter length than the charcoal. Over all an awesome sweater, would buy again
