This is my second system. My first one was purchased from the guy that cleaned my pond and it worked well but the hoses were cheap and had to be replaced within weeks. Evidently they heard about the problem because when the first one died I bought a second and the hoses are top notch. I have not had to replace a single one. I love the fact that I can set it up and forget about dosing the pond for at least 3 weeks. Makes maintenance much easier. I bought the one I have in July 2016 and one of the features just quit on me. When I changed a bag, I was able to hold down a button to start the pump running continuously. When all the air was out of the line, I would press the button again and it would go back to normal operation via the timer. This feature died so I am going to have to buy another unit at $103 after only 16 months of operation. I think the electronics could be a bit more robust. This is a replacement for the same model that was installed 3 years ago with a water feature we had installed. Timely delivery. Clear instructions. Just hoping the last one was a fluke and this has a life span longer than 3 years. When it works, it works well

I had one of these installed by the landscaper when my koi pond was set up last fall. I brought it in for the winter because the folks at Aquascapes said to not keep it out over my harsh northern Vermont winters. When I hooked it up this Spring I noticed over time that after weeks of operation the unit wasn't actually pumping out the solution. I decided to cough up $103.00 more and purchase another unit. Great...but after a few weeks when I looked in I saw half the solution was floating inside the black plastic case and the hose lead into to the outflow cracked. Amazon exchanged it with no hassle and I again set it up. After a couple weeks that hose started to crack and leak!! I bought a fake rock to cover the unit and (because I was getting sick of returning these things) "patched the hose with JB WELD! The unit seems to be pumping better now. Now for the products: (Maintain, Clean...) The pond was getting green and despite the claims my water was not getting any clearer. I even went so far as to purchase ANOTHER dosing system to run "Clean" in one and "Maintain" in the other. Still greenish, murky water. I couldn't see beyond a couple inches. I found (on another site) stuff called Rapid Clean that bonds the undissolved organic particles together to be filtered out and/or fall to the bottom. I tried that...by the next morning my water was almost crystal clear!! So now I have two dosing systems that I can keep feeding with dosing solution at $25.00 a pop every 3 weeks that has NOT worked, or I buy the Rapid Clean at about the same price and it works great. I really had liked the idea of the automatic dosing system and very disappointing it didn't live up to the hype., but after shelling out over $200.00 for 2 units and $25.00 a pop for the solution bags I'm thinking, forget this stuff. ... show more

Purchased to help keep my small outdoor pond clear. Definitely easier to use than trying to figure out correct dosing myself. Purchased the clear along with the system. Once its cleared up algae to my satisfaction I'll switch to the maintenance bag. Love that I can store unused until I need to switch it back again. Definitely loosening up the algae! Just prime it and set dosage by gallon size of pond and I'm finished ... show more

I bought this water treatment system a week before I left on a 3week trip. It was easy to set up and check to see it was operating. When I returned from my trip, the pond looked much better than when I left and the plants and fish are doing well. So no more worries about the pond when I'm gone.
