I will start by saying that I bought this tank for my baby Betta who is only about the size of my thumbnail & although I prefer 5 gallon tanks for my adult Bettas, this would be adequate for him as an adult. (2.5 gallons is, in my opinion the minimum for adult Betta Fish) Filter flow is often an issue on most Betta tanks... The filter is fairly strong but even with as tiny as he is, once I got it adjusted properly, its not so strong that he's flying around & he looks happy which is good! Another nice thing I noticed is that even with him being so small, I haven't had any problems with the intake sucking him in which is especially important when you've got a Betta with beautiful, long flowing fins! It comes with a buffer piece that sticks on the end of the intake which is great! The main reason I chose this particular tank was because it is made of glass - alot of the small Betta tanks are made of plastic & scratch very easily especially with continued cleaning/scrubbing of the glass. This tank feels alot more high quality than most I've had. It is also almost completely covered on top which is nice not only for water evaporation but it also helps prevent jumpers! The lighting has several different colors to choose from including white & "night time blue" plus there is a dial that you can adjust from either really low, just barely on to very bright. The other colors are turquoise, purple, orange, red & green which are also nice! When I first set up the tank, I thought the light was broken because when I plugged it in, the light would go on for a few seconds & then shut off but I found out that you hold the dial down to get the light to go on or off. The coolest feature is definitely the built in digital thermometer which seems to be very accurate when compared with 2 other thermometers. If I had to nit-pick anything at all on this entire tank, it would be that the thermometer does not read in Fahrenheit, only Celsius otherwise this tank is perfect for a Betta in my opinion!

I've dabbled in the aquarium hobby for many years, but my experiences have usually left me with dead fish and sad face due to the cycling process. This is the only tank I have successfully kept a mini ecosystem alive in. Originally bought for a Betta fish, the water output from the filter was too strong and he hated it. I instead stocked it with live plants and six ghost shrimp. Snails came with the plants and have produced exponentially. Some would see this as a negative, I just see more life surviving in my tank. It has a beautiful, stylish look to it, the filter is quiet, and the light with dimmer function is a brilliant addition. The temperature gauge is very accurate, lowering when I lift the lid, and increasing again when re-submerged. I would love it to read in Fahrenheit, but that's not incredibly important. Some downsides are the limitation on substrate height to bury plants in since the sponge filter goes almost to the bottom of the tank. You can't put a ton of gravel, sand, etc. due to this. The other aggravation in setup is the inability to remove the lid. If you were to clean this tank often, it would be a huge downside, but ever since setup and turning it on, the tank has pretty much cleaned and cycled itself. I would highly recommend this tank for nano life such as shrimp, plants, or small snails. I would not recommend it for Bettas or fish in general, but that's only based on my experience. The sponge filter is great for small life, as it sucks up enough to clean the tank, but not enough to kill most inhabitants. Watch out for a small area behind the sponge filter however. I had to save a shrimp one day who got caught back there. The sponge may also get plant debris and extra food stuck on it, but that may have just helped in my cycling process. So far only one shrimp has died, which is incredible considering how sensitive they can be. I wish the light had a timer function so it can come on daily for the plants, but overall I'd highly recommend this little tank.

Great little tank for about less than 2 months . The motor in the water pump to the filter stopped working after 7 weeks of use . Do t waste your money . Buy a tank from someone else . Not happy at all. I paid over $55 for this mini tank and it was a waste of money . I should of spent $10 more and bought 5 gallon tank

Its a cute tank only problem is the filter. The current coming out of the air nozzle is way to strong for our beta. Even with the hose pinched of completely he was really struggling. Just un plugged it and will buy a differnt filter. Other than that is nice.

Love the look of this aquarium...just opened this up for Christmas...the light and temperature display isn’t working. The filter was hard to put together...the pictures on Amazon helped but the filter can only be placed on the left side of the tank...even tho the pictures show it on the right side...bubbles do not come out of the filter, not sure if it suppose to or not. Make sure you purchase a small net...the opening isn't very wide. I am purchasing it again after I send this defective one back. Love the look.

First tank shipped smashed to pieces. Second tank arrived intact, has been working well ever since set up. Light helps to hold steady warm temp. Great for beta fish or lone species small fish. Easy to clean and reassemble. Stays clean for about 4 weeks between cleaning. Filters have to be ordered online. Other than that, it's a great little tank!

I purchased this aquarium in February. Everything has been great until now! It leaks everywhere. I’ve never moved it from its place I first put it in. It is established and my shrimp and snails have been fine. Now I need to buy another aquarium!!! Wish I could get a replacement since this is one leaking!
