The Aputure 400x is a powerhouse. It has a wide color range from 2,500K to 10,000K, which makes it easy to match any environment. The light quality is excellent, with high color accuracy (CRI and TLCI both 95+) so skin tones look natural on camera. It is very bright — with the reflector it pushes over 27,000 lux at one meter. That means you can shape the light with softboxes or diffusion and still have plenty of output. The build feels strong, and the IP65 weather rating gives peace of mind when shooting outdoors. What I appreciate most is that it is simple to use. The controls are straightforward, and the Sidus Link app makes remote adjustments quick. If you're looking for your first "big" light, get this one. It's a perfect balance of cost, output, and features. Absolutely amazing. 400X is the perfect way to buy into the Aputure lineup and get started building out your light kit. I'll be getting at least one more of these with the CF7 fresnel, and of course now I'm really interested in the other fixtures, which are all just so brilliant compared to what we had 15, 10, or even 5 years ago. ... show more
