  • A Rugged and Stylish Companion for Every Adventure!
I recently purchased the Apple Watch Ultra Smart Watch, and I must say it has exceeded all my expectations. This watch is not only a reliable companion for my everyday activities but also a stylish statement piece that I'm proud to wear. First and foremost, the rugged titanium case provides a robust and durable build that can withstand the demands of my active lifestyle. Whether I'm hiking, biking, or even just going about my daily routine, I have peace of mind knowing that my Apple Watch Ultra is up to the task. The color combination adds a touch of sophistication, making it suitable for both casual and formal occasions. The GPS and cellular functionalities are game-changers, as they allow me to stay connected even when I leave my phone behind. I no longer have to worry about missing important calls or messages while I'm out on a run or engaging in outdoor activities. It's incredibly convenient to have the freedom to make calls, send texts, and stream music directly from my wrist without relying on my phone. One aspect that truly sets the Apple Watch Ultra apart is its comprehensive health and fitness features. The heart rate monitor provides accurate and real-time data, allowing me to track my workouts and monitor my overall cardiovascular health. The built-in ECG app gives me valuable insights into my heart rhythm and helps me stay proactive about my well-being. The watch's activity tracking capabilities are exceptional. It automatically detects various exercises, such as running, swimming, and cycling, and provides insightful metrics like distance, pace, and calories burned. The inclusion of a barometric altimeter is a fantastic addition for outdoor enthusiasts like myself, as it accurately measures elevation changes during hikes or climbs. The display is stunningly crisp and bright, ensuring excellent readability even in direct sunlight. The user interface is intuitive and user-friendly, making it easy to navigate through apps and notifications. The watch faces offer a plethora of customization options, allowing me to personalize my device to match my style and preferences. Battery life has been impressive considering the feature-rich nature of the Apple Watch Ultra. With moderate use, I can easily get through a full day without needing to recharge. However, it's worth noting that more battery-intensive activities, such as GPS tracking and streaming, may reduce the overall battery life. Lastly, I want to commend Apple for their exceptional customer support. I had a minor query regarding the setup process, and their support team was prompt and helpful in assisting me. It's reassuring to know that I can rely on their expertise should any issues arise in the future. In conclusion, the Apple Watch Ultra is an outstanding device that seamlessly combines ruggedness, style, and advanced features. Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast, fitness enthusiast, or simply looking for a reliable smartwatch, the Apple Watch Ultra delivers on all fronts. I couldn't be happier with my purchase, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a premium wearable experience. ... show more

  • Best smart watch on the planet
Functionality wise it isn't leaps and bounds above Samsung's offerings or Apple's own Series 8 watches. Battery life is on par now with the Watch 5 Pro. Why do I like it better than everything else then? Durability. I destroyed my Series 7 and my last two Sammy watches. They get beat up on my wrist and aren't that durable. The Ultra is different. It is super durable. I do not have a scratch on the glass or the titanium casing yet after weeks of heavy usage. The plain titanium is far better than the painted for wear. The sapphire used for the glass does not do the micro scratching that the series 7 did so easily. Finally a smart watch that withstand damage. I am not going into the technical aspects or the software as those are fine and to be expected. Battery life is decent. I get a full day with all bells and whistles but not 2 full days. GPS is nice with or without phone. It is a great watch. Pictures are with after market bands and lug adapters. I have all three OEM bands and they all are pretty terrible. Dive band: ugly and all those little holes hold dirt, grime, and dust. Velcro Band: The more and more you use the velcro, the more fluffy the velcro portion gets. It looks unsightly after a few weeks. The Alpine band: Probably my favorite of the 3 but it isn't as precise as I would like. Plus the titanium lug on one end can scratch the titanium casing when you take the band on and off. Need to watch out for that. The plain silicone band pictured is just a better everyday option. I wish Apple would have offered something less design eccentric and more functional overall in terms of bands. ******Update: About a month in and I have ran, walked, mountain biked, hiked, swam, smacked the watch against door, cars, poles. I have absolutely no scratches/dents or any wear on the watch itself. The original alpine loop shows some wear, but I think all cloth straps will show wear in a constant active environment. I am impressed at the durability of this watch. I literally do damage to everything I touch and take no damage. Its like god mode for a watch. ... show more

  • It’s beautiful 😍
I have not had an Apple Watch since generation 1 because of the batter life. I replaced my 1st generation Apple Watch years ago for a FitBit Watch. I have used multiple FitBit watches. My latest FitBit watch is Versa 2. I decided to upgrade to the Apple Watch Ultra …. Finally a better battery life …. I have been waiting for years! I purchased this Apple Watch for 4 features really … 1. Battery Life - I can live with 36 hours, it’s still subpar compared to its competitors, but I am not an extreme outdoorsman. If you are 36 hours may still not be enough, although Apple claims up to 60 hours battery life in low mode. I haven’t tested that myself. 2. The Siren - I live in a rural area. I do like to to take walks/runs and hikes through beautiful wooded areas. This could be helpful with potential animal or human attacks. I am a woman this siren could be a life saver in a number of situations. I will not have to dig in my purse, pockets, car etc. to draw attention/get help. 3. Durability - My last FitBit Versa 2 lost its face. I could see the inner components. So it is safe to say I’m rough on my watches. This watch is made of a lot of durable materials. Perfect! 4. Fitness - I like the activity set up (it’s colorful and very interactive) and I think it’s better than FitBit because you can track a lot of extra health information. Out of the box there is a significant and noticeable weight difference between the Versa 2 and the Ultra, but it is not uncomfortable. I think the more I wear it the more oblivious I will become to it. Remember I have been using FitBit for years so it is noticeable. The screen size is noticeable as well as the depth of the watch. I have very small hands and wrist, but I do not think the Ultra looks bad on me. I am approaching 40, and I actually like the bigger screen 🤷♀️ after trying it out. It’s much easier on the eyes. I do not like the alpine loop band. I will be looking for a replacement. I do not find it to be comfortable. It’s scratchy. If you own an iPhone set up is easy and quick! The watch and iPhone will guide you through several steps. The battery life is about 3 days for me. I turned off the always on display. I opted for the display to turn on when I lift wrist. I also opted not to be notified of emails emails. Silenced everything (hepatics only) I’m not sure if this helps battery life. I also turned down the screen brightness. I sleep in the watch with no issues 6 days a week. I take off the watch on Saturday night through Sunday for a break. The extra weight or size doesn’t bother me. I’m a back and side sleeper. ... show more

  • Big, Bold, and Perfect for Larger Wrists
I love this watch. It’s big and bulky in the best way, and if you have larger wrists like I do, it fits perfectly and doesn’t feel out of place at all. The rugged titanium case gives it a really solid, premium feel, and it looks as tough as it performs. The design stands out without being over the top, and the larger display is a huge plus—everything is easier to read and interact with. I’m not going to go over all the features—at this point, I think everyone already knows what an Apple Watch Ultra can do. Overall, if you like bigger watches and want something that feels strong and well-built, this is a great choice. ... show more

  • HOW MUCH IS YOUR LIFE WORTH?
REVIEW UPDATE: I've now had this watch for 3 1/2 months and love it even more, as it may well have saved my life. As I mentioned in my original review, one of the reasons I purchased the watch was because of all the health and health tracking features. About two weeks ago, I had an episode of being able to feel my pulse pounding in my head and received an irregular heart rhythm warning from my watch. I immediately sat down and did an ECG, using the watch, which indicated Atrial Fibrillation (A-FIB). Over the next couple of days, I had several more similar periodic episodes. That prompted me to make an appointment with my doctor to get checked out. By the time I went in for evaluation, I had recorded many more ECG episodes, using that feature on the watch. The doctor ran an EKG and confirmed an A-FIB diagnosis, based on that and my recordings. His lab drew blood for multiple chemistry testing and scheduled me for an Eco Ultrasound test later this month. I was also put on a blood thinner (Eliquis), to mitigate any possible blood clots forming. Had I not had the watch, knowing how much I hate going to doctors, there is a very good chance I would have blown off the symptoms I had and not gone for the medical check. When I bought the watch, a couple of my friends commented that it was too expensive. Yes, it WAS expensive, but what's your life worth? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original Review: I purchased this watch from Amazon, have had it for one week, and already love it. It works as advertised and should serve me well for hiking, running, and as a backup unit for my SCUBA diving computer. It is not nearly as large and "clunky" on my wrist as I had imagined and is actually very comfortable to wear. As a 77-year-old, I also appreciate the various medical features and warnings. To help learn all the unit's various features and shortcuts, I highly recommend purchasing "Apple Watch ULTRA - Complete User Manual", by Billie B. Sheldon, also available from Amazon. ... show more

  • Love it!!
Color: Titanium Case with Midnight Ocean Band Size: Ocean Band - fits 130-200mm wrists
This is my first Apple Watch. It replaced a Versa 2, which replaced a Versa. I always was afraid of the poor battery life that Apple Watches have (my wife has an Apple Watch 8 and can barely make it through the day and sometimes doesn’t) especially compared with my Fitbit, but I decided to take the plunge when after several years my Fitbit battery had finally had it. I do miss the ease (in my judgement) of the Fitbit app for checking on my “moving” progress throughout the day but the Fitness app will suffice. I have never had less than 60% battery left when I take my watch off in the morning to charge before jumping into the shower. The watch is responsive, and I love that I can read and respond to texts on my watch if needed. (I don’t have my phone in my pocket). With my Versa, texts didn’t always come through and because I have an iPhone and. It Android, could never respond. It is not as easy to respond as it is on my phone, but works well enough. I also like that I can play my playlists while I exercise and don’t have to have my phone, yet it still track my walks or other exercise. I have tried to stream my playlists from Spotify, but that is a mixed bag. Sometimes it works and others it does not. I also like all of the apps that I can run, some being more than others useful in a small screen. I am glad I waited until the Ultra for the larger screen, longer battery life, and tough titanium casing. I also like how the screen is protected by metal on the sides and doesn’t wrapped around the watch face. I do still keep a screen protector just in case. ... show more

  • after 2½ years... Wow!
Color: Titanium Case with Midnight Ocean Band Size: Ocean Band - fits 130-200mm wrists
This is my first Apple smartwatch. I refused to pay hundreds of dollars for a device that required recharging in less than 24 hours. I was also not impressed by the lack of durability of Apple watches -- everyone I know with one, it is scratched-up and looks like crap. So for many years I owned cheaper brands with 1 week or more battery life. When the Ultra was released in 2022, despite the high cost and only 3 days of battery life, I purchased one. My company covered 75% of the cost through our health wellness program, so it was not a painful purchase. Boy, is there so much to love about this watch. Both the body and band are tough and high quality -- so much so, it only has one small scuff mark after more than 2 years. The iPhone and overall Apple ecosystem integration makes this a joy to wear, as I don't need to carry the phone around at work and home. Despite not enabling a mobile phone number, I can receive phone calls on the watch while outside in the yard. And finally, the use of apps on the phone is much easier than anticipated despite the small screen. In closing, this is truly a smartwatch I can keep for 6-10 years and will not hesitate to pay for a battery replacement. ... show more

  • A Truly Spectacular Device: Apple Watch Ultra Exceeds Expectations!
I’ve been a devoted Apple fan for years, and the Apple Watch Ultra is arguably their most impressive offering yet. From the moment I unboxed this gem, its sleek design and premium feel instantly stood out. The Ultra’s display is incredibly crisp, bright, and easy to read in all lighting conditions. But where it really shines is in its performance. This device is astoundingly fast, handling multiple applications smoothly, and the battery life has been a pleasant surprise, easily lasting the whole day, even with extensive use. What sets the Apple Watch Ultra apart, though, is its advanced health features. The heart rate and oxygen level sensors are impressively accurate, and the sleep tracking offers insightful data that has genuinely helped improve my sleep patterns. Apple’s integration of the Watch Ultra with the iPhone is seamless, and the array of watch faces and customizations available means you can make the device truly your own. The added durability with improved water and dust resistance is also a big plus. I was initially hesitant about the price point, but after using the Apple Watch Ultra, I can affirm it’s worth every penny. This is more than a watch; it’s a comprehensive health and connectivity tool that fits right on your wrist. If you’re on the fence, take the leap. You won’t be disappointed with the Apple Watch Ultra. ... show more
