This Apple Watch is ok. I gave it five stars because it's no surprise that you're getting what you're buying. It's a 5+ years old watch and it doesn't even update to the latest version of WatchOS. And that's just forgetting the battery. It had 82% battery capacity when I got it but the charge isn't a big issue. It last a whole day. I bought this watch because it has cellular connectivity so I can make phone calls on it but don't expect many great feature since the software is out of date. But if you want something that can make and respond to texts or make phone calls this one is the best for you. The heart rate monitor works and the sleep tracking function seems to work fine. I’ve bought several “refurbished” products from Amazon and they have all been almost indistinguishable from new! This watch is perfect! And I love the Apple watch concept but I have found that the Apple Watch SE battery only lasts for about a day, so I’m very disappointed.     • Does NOT work without phone paired
The apple watch saga They sell the apple watch to children with the promise that we can have contact with them without the need for a cell phone. BUT IT DOESN'T WORK! On August 15th I bought a watch on Amazon (SE GPS + CELL). I took it to Spectrum where we have an account, they triggered an additional line to the watch and couldn't pair. So, already with the line activated, I took the watch to Apple, where they couldn't pair it. It was claimed that the problem was on spectrum. I went back to the spectrum and they claimed it could be a problem with the watch. I have returned to amazon. I went to Best Buy and bought a new one on August 29th! I took it to Spectrum and they couldn't pair it, they said they would need a phone anyway. I gave up on Spectrum and made an account with Verizon. This account only for cell. In the system it appears as active, however, it does not connect on the watch. The indication was now to attend a Verizon store. On September 2nd, I still couldn't make a watch work for a child! I’d been thinking about getting an Apple Watch as an emergency communications backup to my cell phone as well as for the health monitoring features, but I didn’t want to spend almost $400 on a device I wasn’t sure would work out for me. This “renewed” watch looked like a very good opportunity to evaluate the Apple Watch at a much lower price, and so far it’s worked out, for the most part. Shortly after charging it, the display went into a strange mode where it showed a magnified section of the face, and didn’t respond to button presses. I tried updating the operating system via my watch, which didn’t do anything. After researching on line, I did a restart via pressing both buttons simultaneously, and that did the trick. I haven’t had any problems since then, although it’s only the second day I’ve had it. If it lasts, and does everything I need, I just might upgrade to the next model up in a few months. Might even get a new one. If I have other problems, I’ll note them here. ... show more
