This is really all you need when it comes to protecting your iPad. It really is the perfect companion for the iPad. You'll be so used to it within just a couple days of using it, you won't remember how it was before you used the Smart Cover. You'll never touch the lock button on top again, as this wakes the iPad from sleep when pulling open. You can "peek" at your notifications by just lifting it off for a second, and then just let it snap back. The magnets are extremely strong, but not to the point where it's impossible to take off. It really seems like the perfect balance of magnet strength. The cover also doubles as a stand. It's not as useful as I had thought, but certainly comes in handy. The killer feature being that this will be on your iPad 99.9% of the time, so it's there when you need it, and never in the way when you don't. There's a real difference between the knockoffs and the genuine Apple cover. The mini cover is cheap enough on Amazon that the risk isn't even worth getting a terrible copy. Go for the real thing, and you will not be disappointed.

At first, there was some confusion about the product number that Milli-Mall list for this product compared to Apple's actual product number found on the lower backside of the packaging that I took a photo of when I saw one in person. Milli-Mall quickly responded to my question about the Apple product number confusion, explaining that the number they list for this product has to do with their personal inventory system. I recieved a genuine Apple iPad Mini Smart Cover that arrived in the authentic Apple packaging and was the correct part number "MGNC2ZM/A" for the black-colored iPad Mini Smart Cover. I really like how the cover stays secured via the spine magnet, wakes the iPad Mini up when you open it, the screen cleaning microfiber lining, and how it converts into a keyboard stand. To protect the backside of my iPad Mini, I'm pairing the Apple Smart Cover with an Oakley Hazard iPad Mini Rear Case (Jet Black) that's compatible with Apple Smart Cover.

This Smart Cover does as advertised. I've been using other types of cover (or cases rather) for my iPad mini and not until I took them off I realized how heavy they were and how much heavier they rendered my iPad while I was using it. Once I took the covers off I was much more comfortable using my iPad. I bought this Smart Cover because of the ease to put it on and take it off and it's great for me. This cover is the original version from Apple and the magnet is quite strong, the finish is nice and the quality is as expected. I'm rather happy with the cover and I'd recommend it for anyone looking to lighten up the iPad!

I was very pleased with this smart cover -- the yellow cover is very attractive. It's minimal and adds no bulk at all to the iPad mini, while protecting the front glass. The smart cover does just as it claims, turning on and off the iPad as you open and close the cover. No complaints there. The only reason I gave the cover 4 stars instead of 5 is that the cover gets in the way in the worst way when you're trying to take a picture. Folded back, it covers the lens, and there's no getting around that, so I'm always lifting it and it's awkward. Perhaps an adjustment to keep in mind for a future version.

I had my doubts when ordering this, but I am very happy that this did, in fact, turned out to be the real iPad smart cover from Apple. The quality is great, and it works fine (the magnet, on/off when the cover is open or closed). The only problem I had with this, is that it isn't very sturdy, but I expected that from past experiences with Apple's smart covers. Overall, this was worth it and it does its job. I recommend getting it here since it's on sale now as opposed to Apple's price (which always remains the same).

This is an official apple Smart Cover. It works great! Just make sure you order this from amazon to 100% guarrentee you're getting an apple Smart Cover. I wouldn't trust the lower prices from other sellers under this category of smart covers. I trust amazon to sell me an official apple product at a reduced price. This cover is the exact same packaging & cover I bought for my iPad Air at the apple store. I've almost used other brand covers but they have non apple logos where I couldn't bring myself to go out in public with others knowing I went cheap on my iPad, I refuse. So I stick with the visually striking "Oh wow he has a real apple cover, what a classy guy."

This case is just okay. I don't think it was worth the 40 dollars. I got the yellow color and it is very pale yellow. It's a pretty color, I just wish it was a little brighter. The magnet isn't the best either, it doesn't lay completely flat because the magnet isn't strong enough. It probably wouldn't do a very good job of protecting the ipad from getting scratched up either, especially if you plan on carrying it around in your purse. If you are prone to dropping things or you want to just throw it in your bag then I would suggest getting a full case instead. If you just want something that looks kind of pretty then this works fine.

When I first purchased my iPad mini many years ago, I got an Apple Smart Cover. It endured for several years before I needed to replace it. I decided to replace it with a couple different brands, none of them worked as well as the Apple Smart Cover. I really like how I can flip the cover to the back and the iPad will still lay flat, unlike the others I tried.
