This refurbished computer arrived within the promised 2 days, looked unscratched and undented as promised, and functioned well. I partitioned the drive into a dual boot, IOS and Windows---something not possible with the new M1 chip. Two concerns: the light-weight non-OEM charger lasted 8 hours and the fan starts up almost immediately and stays on. Possible over-heating? I have now had the computer for five days and have just upgraded my review from 3 to 5 stars. My reason: the supplier sent a credit covering purchase of a replacement charger and there is no longer a potential overheating problem. I've been looking to replace my first MacBook Air for a while but I didn't want to pay $1.5K for the latest iteration with the amount of storage I needed. I got this via Woot so it was refurbished/renewed. It runs fast and despite minor cosmetic dings and scratches that came from a previous owner or something, it's fine. I have a case/cover coming for it to prevent more of those because I'm tough on my laptops. Battery life is decent. Does lower notably over the course of a few days even if it hasn't been used at all in that time. ... show more

    • Refurb, maybe...... Excellent Quality....... not really.
Well, it did arrive when they said it would. Took it out of the box, and it did have some life in the battery. OK, so far so good. Took the after-market charger out of the plastic wrap, and plugged it into the wall outlet. Plugged the other end into the Macbook Air...... hmmmm, the Macbook isnt charging. Tried another outlet, still not charging. OK, so now I tried the other Thunderbolt port, and it worked. There was also some case damage around the thunderbolt ports, So I wouldnt call it "excellent condition". And when you spend this kinda $$$, the ports better be working. My MAC arrived earlier than expected, looks new, the battery is working as expected, keyboard and trackpad work perfectly. It does not come with the original charger but the one that comes with the computer works exactly like the original. The web cam is not great, actually is the only defect that this computer has. ... show more

So I ordered a refurb unit (it was labelled new) but clearly a refurbished one, the hardware was not in bad shape when it arrived by the keyboard had a shift issue (it always capitalized everything), wasn't able to troubleshoot it and took it to the apple store for support, they looked it up and like yes this is broken in exactly the same it was when first person bought and and it needed a $500 motherboard replacement. He suggested we return it to amazon and we agreed. Notes: 1. You can't just take refurb units into the apple store because they won't have record of you buying it, you need call apple on the phone and get them to schedule the appointment for you. 2. this is 3 stars because the return refund process within 3 months was actually smooth and had no issues. 3. These refurb units are dramatically cheaper for a reason, so you get what you pay for (and you can return it if you miss out), but you can't wait. ... show more
