This refurbished computer arrived within the promised 2 days, looked unscratched and undented as promised, and functioned well. I partitioned the drive into a dual boot, IOS and Windows---something not possible with the new M1 chip. Two concerns: the light-weight non-OEM charger lasted 8 hours and the fan starts up almost immediately and stays on. Possible over-heating? I have now had the computer for five days and have just upgraded my review from 3 to 5 stars. My reason: the supplier sent a credit covering purchase of a replacement charger and there is no longer a potential overheating problem.     • Good for college on a budget!
I’ve been using my refurbished MacBook for over a year and it still works really well and is relatively fast. The only thing is that the battery life is short and will die if it’s left in sleep mode for too long.

Day 2 working with this MacBook and it works great so far!! It looks and works like a brand new MacBook!! It came well packaged with a brand new charger (off-brand, but looks like an Apple charger). No scratches or dings anywhere, none of the keys stick, fingerprint scan works, camera and sound are perfect, fast processing. My toddler poured water on my previous laptop and I needed a replacement fast for work, and this was overnighted to me (not Amazon fulfillment either). This is supposed to be “Renewed” in EXCELLENT condition. As you can see from the photos, this is not excellent condition. The screen is filthy and scratched. Theres a drop dent on the top right corner. The bottom of the MacBook literally has a sticker to cover the entire bottom of the laptop and it doesn’t even fit right. And after going through the initial setup and logging into my apple id to sync, it has paused due to overheating and won’t go any further. UNACCEPTABLE AMAZON! Due better! This MacBook is completely useless and I have already added it to my devices. Smh… I read all the bad reviews about the poor conditions of a lot of these being sent out. Also read some decent reviews. Was hoping I’d be one of the lucky ones. I’m not. Definitely sending this piece of garbage back. NOT WORTH THE MONEY! Buy from Apple! ... show more

The item was as stated. No blemishes to speak of. Charger was fine. Computer turned on and I was able to transfer all of my information no problem. The problem lies in the packaging. As Maxwell Smart used to say "I missed by thaaaaat much" (holding two finger separated by a mm). The foam ends in the box are supposed to go AROUND the computer, protecting it from sliding around and getting banged up in transport. As you can see in the picture above the computer easily sits between the two foam ends and the computer slides around easily. Besides the packaging, computer and seller are a win. ... show more

So I ordered a refurb unit (it was labelled new) but clearly a refurbished one, the hardware was not in bad shape when it arrived by the keyboard had a shift issue (it always capitalized everything), wasn't able to troubleshoot it and took it to the apple store for support, they looked it up and like yes this is broken in exactly the same it was when first person bought and and it needed a $500 motherboard replacement. He suggested we return it to amazon and we agreed. Notes: 1. You can't just take refurb units into the apple store because they won't have record of you buying it, you need call apple on the phone and get them to schedule the appointment for you. 2. this is 3 stars because the return refund process within 3 months was actually smooth and had no issues. 3. These refurb units are dramatically cheaper for a reason, so you get what you pay for (and you can return it if you miss out), but you can't wait. ... show more
