I probably wouldn’t have purchased this case 5 years ago at its original price. I rarely buy OEM Apple stuff for that very reason. Since this was on sale for $15 and I needed a new case, I went ahead and purchased one. This case is so typical of Apple. It’s just a phone case, but you can tell a lot went into the feel of the case. It is barely there and very soft, but also easy to grip. It’s the best case I’ve ever owned.

This is my favorite phone case. I have never liked bulky cases. This case is soft and comfortable. They are not very durable though. When you drop your phone/scratch it on something it is going to scratch up the silicone cover. There is a harder plastic part that is closest to the phone so it doesn't necessarily scratch your phone just makes the case look messed up. Otherwise they ar the perfect cases.

After spending a bunch of time considering various options for iPhone Xs cases and seeing conflicting info on the suitability of iPhone X cases for an iPhone Xs I ended up concluding I couldn't be sure that some vendors wouldn't be selling something nominally for the Xs but that is really only an X case that only sort of works for the Xs. I figured I wouldn't have that problem if I bought an Apple case. I found this somewhat strangely colored case was being sold at a slight discount (presumably because of its slightly strange color). That slightly lower price made me feel a bit less bad about the gouge-y price :-) Anyway, the case came and I've been liking it. It's made of a material whose grippiness matches pretty much exactly what I want--not so weak that it tends to slip from my hands and not so strong that it's a pain to get it in and out of my pockets.

I've owned my iPhone 10s for almost two years, and in that time, I have purchased three of these cases. On the plus side, I like how thin the case is. I like the feel of the case – it has a nice grip and doesn't feel slimy. It has also protected my phone perfectly from a couple of errant drops. The downside is that, over time, the silicone coating begins to separate from the plastic case material underneath. It typically starts at the bottom of the case and begins to migrate upwards (as in my photo of my latest case before I threw it out). Obviously I keep buying these, so that should tell you something. I just wish they lasted a bit longer than 8 months.

Definitely not the same level of protection as other cases, but the feel is amazing. It keeps the phone size down, it's the perfect combo of grippy without having ridiculous textures. In an age of "screen time" concerns, it's a bad idea, because I love holding my phone with this case. After a month of use it's holding up well, but I treat my things with care. Probably minor drop protection, but with a microfiber backing, it's a little more substantial than some of the sleeker case options. Raises the phone enough that the camera is cleared when set down. Wireless charging works perfect with it. All around one of the best cases I've ever owned... which is good, because it's definitely an expensive case. The gap at the bottom works perfect with the swipe gestures - no ridges to interfere with app switching etc. The black is a really great compliment to the "space gray" phone color and blends really nicely on the back and around the front.

I know it's an Apple brand product, so it's expected to be expensive, but in the past I've been able to get simple cases like this for far less money (there's really nothing to this case - it's the same thing as past cases I've bought for previous phones). The only reason I sprang for it was that I got the Xs (phone through work - they cover phone and service but I'm on my own for a case) and there were zero third-party cases that people said fit it correctly (most reviews said other cases were just slightly off). So, the case fits great (given it's made by the phone manufacturer that should be a given) but the price was ridiculous for what I got. In the past I did armor for my phones and got a full hard-core Otterbox setup for an iPhone with the armored case plus a holster for less than this.
