I ordered this phone for my son to use just to watch netflix and play games on wifi. It arrived in perfect condition. Only negative thing i will say is when i activated the phone, Apple came on the screen and said it was not the original battery(which of course with a renewed phone nothing is perfect). The battery life is not 100% it sits at 85-90% battery life but still lasts for hours and does its job. ... show more

I thought this was a good deal (iPhone SE 2nd Gen refurb for $165) until I received the phone. Cosmetically, it looked great. However, internally, it was something else. The battery went from 92% lifetime capacity to 90% in only a few days. Hybrid IT was nice about it and said I could get a refund, exchange, or take it to an Apple Store or Best Buy for a new battery and they would reimburse me. Not wanting to go without a phone for a week or two, I took it to Geek Squad at Best Buy. I had to wait nearly two weeks for an appointment, but that has nothing to do with my rating. They called the next day and said the phone didn’t have genuine Apple parts inside and if they broke during battery replacement, they would have to mail the phone to Apple for completion of the repair and I would be charged the whole cost of the unit. I thought, okay, I can handle the risk and I can understand not using genuine Apple parts, but then what if it broke? I didn’t know if the Amazon seller would cover that cost as well and thought I should contact them first. That’s when the Geek Squad tech says, there’s something else you should know. See attached image. The ribbon cable was taped to the underside of the screen. Cables in iPhones aren’t meant to be taped in place. They are more permanently secured by routing through channels using adhesives. So, in the refurbishment process someone cut a lot of corners using cheap parts, did shoddy work, and didn’t thoroughly test the unit. That was enough for me to say, nope, I want a refund. I will say customer service was great. I returned the phone and was refunded. The only reason I bought this was because it was guaranteed to have 90%+ battery capacity left. Most refurbs seem to be 70%-80%. Unfortunately, in this case, the battery was bad even though it displayed 90%+. So, this whole experience has soured me on buying refurbished iPhones from here on out. I gave up and bought the newest SE brand new instead. ... show more

    • Not Safe Link Compatible
The phone is just fine, but this model is newer than the iPhone models listed on Safe Link for compatibility with their $1.00 SIM cards. And just found out that I have to get one that cost $100 which I don’t have right now and won’t have it for awhile. So, for anybody on the Safe Link program, I suggest checking their website first for the iPhone models they have listed, and calling them before buying this phone or any other newer model. You’ll need the IMEI number for the phone to purchase the right SIM card. I can use this phone in the house on my router network but not outside until get the right SIM card that’s gonna cost me a hundred bucks. Update: LOL! I couldn’t see paying $100 bucks for an SIM card, so I switched carriers. Transferred my ACP benefit to Boost Mobile. Took it to Boost in person and they set it right up in the store, with only a $10 transfer fee. The phone is great! And I still recommend it, so you may have to switch carriers if Safelink can’t activate your new phone. Most popular carriers are with the ACP, so get this great phone and switch if you have to. ... show more
