I bought this with another gothic/steampunk style coat and I wasn't really sure what to expect as far as quality and appearance. I was not disappointed!! I was delighted!! This coat is beautiful. Very well made and the size is perfect (in this case, Large). The buttons are firmly in place and perfectly suited to the coat - this is not "costume-ish" or cheap looking by any means. I truly could not be happier and highly recommend this if you are teetering on whether to purchase or not! It's a great deal for a coat of this quality that you can't typically find in regular stores - or pay way more for if you do!!!!

I bought this coat to be the outer layer of a costume. It is made with above average quality for this price level. Yes, the pockets are sewn on flaps, but the buttons and material thickness are better than expected. I've worn it two years in a row at a festival and received several compliments. My rating for "light weight" is 4 out of 5 because it is thicker than you'd think and is hot as part of a costume in the summer, but I do not believe this is a negative. And layered costumes in the summer are going to be hot. A real buy.

Very nice material and workmanship. Yes, there are no pockets or buttonholes; but if that’s a requirement, then prepare to pay a custom tailor five or ten times as much. However, for a nice costume piece to use in various designs and outfits, this works perfectly. Sizing was spot on. I’m 5’7”, 150 lbs and the medium fit quite nicely. This actually exceeded expectations along with prompt delivery.

Fit is good, I’m 6ft1in and 200lbs and got a large. The neck area would be a bit tight if it buttoned up, but unfortunately the buttons are just for esthetics. There are no button holes. If that is in the description, I missed it. Regardless, still keeping as otherwise it fits the bill and price is right.

This is definitely a costume piece. The fabric is not waterproof, and the buttons/pockets are not functional. That said, it looks great for the price and was perfect for my pirate costume. The length is great and the details in the design are good. I think it would be good for a few other costumes as well.
