This doll is very much as described and depicted by the seller. I spent so much time deciding which doll to buy for my daughter, going through all the reviews and looking at the pictures of the dolls that customers took and finally decided on Aori (20 inch Newborn Baby Doll- Light Pink) since the reviews were consistently happy and the pictures were pretty accurate to the ones used for the product description. I was not disappointed! This doll is very lifelike in appearance and the skin feels very smooth and soft. It is a vinyl material but not hard and dense, so you are able to squeeze it and it will flex without applying a lot of pressure. Not nearly as hard as vinyl dolls were when I was growing up,m and not sticky like a silicon or rubber material. Please note that it is not very pose-able. The legs are bent at the knees and hardly move from that sitting type position- they are sewn into the cloth body and do not rotate. The arms can be stretched over her head but unless something is holding them there (like tucking her hand behind her head) the arm will just pull back down to its original position. It has a soft cloth body and is not very heavy, nowhere near the 7 or 8 pound average of a real newborn baby, but that was not something that bothered me. What I mostly wanted was a somewhat realistic, pretty doll face and a cloth body type (because I did not want an anatomically correct doll as a lot of Reborn dolls tend to be) and this doll greatly fills that roll. With the cloth body the dolls head does flop from side to side and back to front when moved, somewhat mimicking a real baby. The paint job on the doll is quite good, the head shape is nicely rounded (I also purchased a second Aori doll with her eyes closed -20 Inch Sleeping Newborn Girl, Beige- and that doll does have a slightly oblong head when viewed from the side). I was a bit worried about the full set of eyelashes that the dolls with open eyes tend to have, but when viewing from straight on it does not look like the doll has unrealistic eyelashes. The blushed paint job on the skin of this doll looks pretty real. There is a bit of extra paint on the fingernails that was overpainted onto the palm but for the price point of this doll and how good it looks I believe it is a great deal and would definitely purchase an Aori doll again in the future. ... show more

I am an adult doll collector, but i have also cared for children since i was a kid... so i know what they like. This model doll comes in two sizes that I've seen so far ( 18 inch and 20 inch) I had an order for the 20 inch and was accidentally sent the 18 inch( i even compared her two an American girl doll, taking into consideration the bend in the knees, so she appears as 17 inches. That is my only complaint) however, I am not upset. This doll is one of the most beautiful dolls I've ever seen. Her eyes are so gorgeous, I can't stop looking at her. The 18 inch is basically the size of a newborn premie baby. I will be looking for clothing in that size. The vinyl is very soft more like a skin feel and she is a bit weighted so it feels like holding a real baby. Children would be thrilled to receive this doll, she is easy to carry around and has a soft body to cuddle. She is pretty easy to change out of her clothes. Collectors will enjoy having her displayed she really is a gem. The doll would make a great gift for an elderly patient, my mother lives in a facility and received a reborn awhile back, she loves her baby. Ive also found it is very comforting to hold to relax before bed. I have held her and started falling asleep in chairs, on the sofa and now I'm sleeping with her at night, it helped me sleep the whole night long( which is very hard for me) so this could be great gift for someone having trouble with insomnia or stress. Bought this doll for my 3 year old boy and he absolutely loves her and so does his baby brother! She is so beautiful and looks very realistic, even her tiny nails look like real nails. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of it for the value! We bought a new outfit to put her in and the size 0-3 months does fit her really well! She is so cute! She looks so real, and is very tiny. My daughter collects Reborns, and this is the best one she has ever gotten so far. She has very well painted hair, with pretty blue eyes. She’s a soft weighted cloth body with very soft and real feeling vinyl skin. I definitely recommend this doll!
