When I received this RC mosasaur my 4 year old could hardly wait to get it out of the package! It’s very visually appealing (golden teeth and glowing eyes!) and the paint job seems to hold up well to repeated water exposure. I filled up a kiddie pool on my back patio for the first use. It was easy enough for a toddler to use. The directions said that it has forward, backward, left and right movement capabilities, but I didn’t find it able to reverse. My kiddo accidentally dropped it onto the patio and the tail came off. We were able to reattach it, minus the tip. We next took the toy to a small lake in our neighborhood and all the kids on the dock were clambering for a chance to try it. Older kids quickly lost interest by the limited functions and slow speed. My daughter and her friend made up a game of one kid on the dock with the other swimming. The robot would attempt to sneak up and tag the swimmer unless the swimmer caught it first in which case they’d fling it as far away as possible. It always lands in a position to swim during these shenanigans, though the remaining tail piece broke off and sank to the bottom of the lake. We have used it a few more times and I think the slow speed and limited movements lost their thrill pretty quickly. ... show more

    • What a great toy for all ages!
This is such a cool remote control toy! I really like that the dinosaur is rechargeable, comes with two rechargable battery packs. The remote control requires two AA batteries and I wish that it was rechargeable as well, but using rechargeable AA's doesn't make it too much of an issue. We started out running it in a little kiddie pool and quickly realized that this little speedster needs a water area much larger to appreciate its potential. We took it to a local public park with a small lake and this dinosaur tore through the water with ease. The tail end of the creature moves back and forth as it moves through the water, which is a nice touch. The manual states that the distance of the RF is 30 meters, but we didn't test that. However, we took it out probably about 30 FEET from the shore and didn't have any issues. I would recommend this product for both kids and adults. ... show more

    • Great toy for my 6 year old!
The media could not be loaded. We had shark toy before but the quality wasn’t nowhere near this one. Body of this Dino Shark is hard and the joints where the tail moves and water goes through are really tough. On our old shark toy, the tail kept falling apart which only caused my boy frustration. It comes with 2 batteries which means continued fun and I don’t have to deal with whining when the battery goes out. Honestly, battery lasts a good amount of time anyways. I am not exactly sure but I’d say he played with the shark for at least 20min before putting it away and the battery wasn’t even fully drained. Battery is heavy and large, cleverly positioned on the bottom to add some pull and balance to the toy when submerged in water. You HAVE TO SUBMERGE it in water or it will not swim. I tried turning it on dry but nothing happened, my boy instantly frowned thinking it doesn’t work. But the moment we placed it in water, it started swimming. Remote controller needs 2AA batteries, not included. It’s easy to maneuver and the Dino Shark will move left, right, forward, backwards and it moves quite fast. We even took it to the ocean and salt water didn’t cause any damage. My son really enjoyed the open water but other beach visitors weren’t too happy lol I am pleased with the quality but what matters the most, my son really loves it. He even takes it to bed with him lol ... show more

Item arrived and we were excited to use it. Installed batteries in Dino and remote. Placed Dino in water and turned on remote. Pairing DING sounded and worked like a charm… for 5min. We figured it needed a battery charge so we did. However the Dino will no longer pair with the remote. $37 for 5min of use…. Not happy. Card in box has direct contact info with manufacturer but they don’t reply or respond to email or whatsapp. Card says lifetime warranty. But have yet to get any customer service. We’ll see and update if anything good comes out of it. ... show more
