I have had the 100 amp version installed for about 6 months now, and no issues with it. I am using it for my 750 watt, 12vDC to 120vAC power inverter. Ill manage to trip the inverter itself, but this breaker doesn't falter. I purposefully went with a much higher rating than the inverter requires to facilitate any possible future upgrades to a larger inverter. The breaker is installed under the hood of my van, right next to the battery. Only about 8 inches of wire between it, and the battery. This way, the rest of the cable that runs through the firewall, under the carpet etc is protected from any short circuit if it should be accidentally chafed or cut. That is how you should run fuses and breakers. As close to the power source as possible. (that's why the breakers in your home are directly after the meter) I also use this breaker as a disconnect for the inverter. When I'm done using the inverter, I just pop the hood, and press the little button to open the breaker. Then, when i do wish to use it, I just flip the little lever back down, and it's on again. It has had many, MANY cycles of this kind of use. To this day, no problems. Again: I have the 100 amp version. I use mine as a disconnect switch as well. it is installed under the hood subject to engine heat and other under-hood environmental elements. No issues thus far. ... show more

I will say, this product works and its doing an excellent job for what I need - HOWEVER there are two glaring issues. 1. The "reset" button is INSANELY sensitive. If you so much as press carpet up against it (as in installing under carpet) it will be enough to press the button or cause a twitchy connection. I had to build a sheet metal cover for my switch because the carpet laying on top of it was enough to trip the button if the carpet shifted at all. 2. The grommets do not fit 4awg wire. You'd think if you're going to advertise this as fitting 4 gauge wire, the "water tight" grommet should be able to fit 4 gauge wire, so I just had to use the open ended plastic caps which is no biggie to me. Id be more upset if this breaker was exposed as then it would not look as finished as I would like. All things considered if you're placing this in a very safe place that has NO way of even being grazed near the button, and you're okay with the rubber grommets not fitting larger wires - its a good product for money. ... show more

So far works like it should. Installed on my boat. Using the inserts for 8ga wire, install was straight forward and simple. Easier than crimping in an in-line fuel. Insert one wire and tighten then inert other wire and tighten.
