First of all, I give the concept and the content of Animal Island 5 full stars! The animals are SO cute, and the "preschool" lessons are so wonderful. My 3 year old on the autism spectrum was enjoying it, but after I found out how advanced she actually is...I've mostly passed it on to my 1 year old son. He LOVES it! I work from work, and I need my kiddos entertained so I can actually get work done. Animal Island has been making my days much more manageable. My mobile little guy is entertained and actually sits still to watch it. I love the stories, the songs, the graphics...and the repetition factor that helps children to really learn and retain. It's very engaging, bright, and cheery for kids. I truly see how other parents say that their kiddos learn their letters, numbers, shapes, colors, etc. early because of this system (I think this will be the case for my little guy). I love that there are different learning levels, and that babies up to 4 years old can learn a lot from this system....and that it can be shared among siblings. Cons: I simply wish it didn't lose its charge so quickly, and then in turn, take so long to charge. It may not be noticed if your child only uses an hour or two a day (which is probably most ideal to keep screentime fairly minimal), but it simply isn't going to hold out for as long as some working parents need it to. I also notice sometimes it takes a long time to load and can be a tiny bit glitchy. Ours also has a random line on the right side that hasn't went away when it's on - I'm keeping an eye on it, but hope it's not something that will cause problems down the road. My other thing is that my little man pushes the button a lot that takes it back to the home screen - I think for little hands that button maybe shouldn't be out in the front. Because it is, I often have to get him back in to his lessons. I also notice my charging port (the metal part), is a little crooked. Lastly, the case comes off pretty easily - I feel like it could possibly be a little more durable/protect the system a little better. If your kiddo likes to do their own navigating, (my daughter does), this system may not be the top choice for them.....but I think this is absolutely perfect for little ones, and I love the idea that their only choice is educational content as opposed to a tablet where they can go everywhere else. Anyways, overall, I LOVE this system...but I do hope it holds out long-term. I would've preferred to give it 4 1/2 stars because of how great the content/learning experience is...but that wasn't an option, and due to the electronic stuff, I couldn't give it a full 5. Other than that, I highly, highly recommend this for your kiddos!! :) ... show more
