  • Finally, an "all in one" toolbox made just for me!
This is a fantastic "all in one" toolbox that can finally replace all the random pieces I've acquired through the years from the $1 store, Allen wrenches that came with some furniture I no longer have, a couple of wrenches that were left at my apartment after coming by to fix something, etc. You know the drill (no pun intended). This has everything a very non-handy (but capable of doing basic stuffs) single lady could need, and more. The tape measure is smaller than the standard, but it fits better in my hand or pocket and works great. The screwdrivers are perfect for the small tasks I may have (and hey, a real flat head is a suitable replacement for the butter knives I was using - lol). I am always looking for one to tighten up the legs on my old desk, put on new license plates or (big adventure) hanging towel hook with screws at the base. The Allen wrenches were honestly what drew me to this, though. I have so many of them and I have no idea where they call came from, but they've been like a weirdly important piece of my life for so long. The hammer feels sturdy enough for basic picture hanging that I do once in a while, whenever I move and the extra picture hanging screws and anchors are great! The box cutter was a really nice bonus, as the one I currently have has seen better days (just like the rest of my 'tools'). It worked wonderfully to open the rest of the Amazon packages I had and slipped securely back into the plastic guard. If I'm honest, I don't see myself using the wrenches, sockets or other things very often.. but someone may need them one day and by God I'll finally be able to say "what does this look like, a garage?" I can wholeheartedly say this is a great set for many casual uses and I'm more than certain, it would work for heavier projects as well. Great to have around the house and excellent value for the price. The extreme bonus being it doesn't take up much space and I won't have to go searching for a butter knife or the "where the hell is that..." random tool anymore. I would recommend! ... show more

  • Entry level tools, but a great starter set to cover most activities
The first thing to keep in mind is that this kit is not competing with high-end tools. It's offering a lot of functionality for light-duty at a very high value price. Everything in the kit is useful as a starter tool to someone who lives in a home, dormitory, or apartment. The tape measure is a 10' length, and despite its thin blade I was able to get about about a 6' length without additional support. Not bad. It has retraction hold slider, and two buttons for momentary hold. It offers both metric and conventional units, which is convenient. The screwdrivers have nice beefy grips that will help with hand fatigue if you're turning a long screw. I wouldn't abuse them, but they should hold up under normal use. The hammer would have benefitted from a thicker grip to help balance it better, but it's plenty for driving small picture hanger and finish nails. The set of driver bits included is very comprehensive, which is great for the various heads you can encounter with furniture. Torx, square, Phillips and flat are all well represented. The included precision screwdriver are also very convenient to have on hand. The utility knife isn't heavy enough to do extended drywall work, but it will score caulking or perform light duty. It has a blade that lets you clip off the dull tips when you need a sharp tip, which is also convenient. Many of the lower cost kits have problems with pieces falling out of their slot when it's closed. Not this one; So far it has done a great job of keeping itself organized. ... show more

  • Great Starter Tool Set for Basic Apartment Repairs
I think this is a great little starter toolbox for someone moving into a new apartment, getting their first place, or simply needing the basics on hand without spending a lot of money on individual tools. It comes with a surprisingly good variety of items, including sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, a hammer, tape measure, utility knife, hex keys, bits, and other small accessories. There are also 77 fasteners included, which is a nice bonus for having some basic hardware available. The tools are more of a mid grade quality ( my opinion), so I wouldn't expect them to hold up to heavy duty projects or years of frequent use. If you're someone who is very handy and uses tools regularly, I'd recommend spending more on a higher quality set. For someone like me who mainly needs tools for putting together furniture, hanging things, tightening or loosening screws, and handling little repairs around the apartment, this set does the job.I also really like the carrying case. Everything has its own little spot and snaps into place, so the tools don't just get tossed around in a box. The whole case is compact enough to fit perfectly in my front closet, which makes it easy to store and grab when I need it. Overall, I wouldn't buy this expecting professional grade tools, but that's not what I needed. It's an affordable, convenient starter set that gives you enough to get by until you're ready to invest in better quality tools. For a new apartment or someone starting from scratch, it's a nice basic set to have around. For me it works just fine for random little projects and just what I need! ... show more

  • Surprisingly high quality and well organized
I’m pleasantly surprised with the quality of this set! I’ve tried other similar sets and often multiple parts, especially hammers, tend to feel like toys. Thankfully, that’s not the case with this set! I love how the case is really well organized with fitted slots for each item, keeping them organized and in place as you carry the case around. Everything is high quality and surprisingly well made. The pliers open and close smoothly and the measuring tape has the traditional lock as well as a button on the side and underneath that you can press one of to keep the tape measure from retracting as long as you hold it. The measuring tape even has inches and centimeters, which isn’t always the case, and the metal hook at the end isn’t loose, so there’s no confusion when measuring. I recently used the Phillips screwdriver to assemble a piece of furniture and the handle was comfortable, the head didn’t slip, and the tip is actually magnetic, which made it much easier to get the screws in place when screwing them in sideways or upside down. In terms of actual tools, the set has 70 tools/tool parts. The additional 78 items are anchors, screws, and electrical tape. It’s surprisingly complete for most basic household tasks/repairs. The main tool that’s missing that most homeowners would want to add are groove joint pliers. Overall, I’m really happy with this set! It makes an excellent first tool set as it’s high quality and almost covers the gamut, without taking up a lot of space. ... show more

  • An affordable, well-organized way to get fully equipped without buying tools piece by piece.
This is a wonderful "all in one" toolbox that can finally replace lots of my random pieces I've acquired through the years. I think this is a great little starter toolbox for someone moving into a new apartment, getting their first place, or simply needing the basics on hand without spending a lot of money on individual tools. With 148 pieces packed in, this kit checks nearly every box for routine household jobs. The 1/4" sockets and combination wrenches make quick work of furniture builds, small plumbing fixes, and general appliance maintenance. The precision screwdrivers turned out to be one of my favorite parts — ideal for eyeglasses, laptops, and other tiny gadgets where a standard-sized driver just won't fit. ... show more

  • Carnival prize quality.
I knew this wasn’t going to be a professional-quality tool set, but I was still surprised by how cheap it actually feels. It immediately reminded me of a very inexpensive tool kit my parents bought me as a kid in the early 1990s. Fine for a weak child learning to use tools. Poor for someone with normal adult strength. The “148-piece” description also makes this kit sound far more substantial than it is. There isn’t even a real socket set. The nine sockets are small attachments meant to be used with the bit driver. There is no ratchet, and I would not consider putting significant torque through them. A huge portion of the advertised piece count is also made up of bits, hex keys and 77 fasteners. Once you remove all of that padding, there really aren’t many actual hand tools here. The tools themselves feel extremely low quality. The pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, hammer and driver all feel designed for very occasional, extremely light-duty use. Claims like “high-strength carbon steel,” “heat treatment” and “long-term durability” don’t match what I have in my hands. I can see a place for this as a cheap kit to leave in a camper, dorm room, apartment or vehicle just in case you need to tighten something or handle a very basic repair. For that purpose, having something is better than having nothing. But if you actually use hand tools with any regularity, the quality difference will be obvious immediately. I would much rather have 20 decent tools than a case advertising 148 pieces of this quality. 3 stars for having a case. ... show more

  • Excellent First Toolkit for a Reasonable Price
This feels like a decent set to get someone for their first toolkit. It's got most of what they'll need for small home or DIY projects, and I could see someone getting this and never needing another set of tools again. They're not super high quality, and you could probably find a better set at a hardware store or such, but it's certainly not a bad set for $30. I really appreciate the tape measure and utility knife, as not many would think to include those in sets, despite how often both get used compared to the other tools. Some of the bits had come loose from the top and bottom of the toolbox when I first got it, but I assume that was mostly due to a somewhat rough delivery. There's a foam piece inside that keeps the two sides of the toolkit separate, but it's very thin and I don't see it holding up for very long if you use the toolkit often. The electrical tape included in the set is also nice, though I would be careful about what you use it for (electricity is dangerous, even when you're using the appropriate tools) as I'm not sure of the quality. Regardless, if you're looking to get into home repair or just need a kit for around the house or garage, I'd say this is a really good introductory set, especially for the low price. ... show more

  • Great product for the price
Bought this for my son who will be moving into his first house. This is a fantastic all-in-one starter toolbox for anyone getting their first place, or simply wanting the basic tools on hand without spending a fortune. It includes a surprisingly good variety of sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, a hammer, tape measure, utility knife, Allen keys, bits, and other accessories, plus 77 fasteners for basic projects. The tools feel more mid-grade than professional, so I wouldn't expect them to handle heavy-duty work or years of frequent use. But for everyday tasks like assembling furniture, hanging pictures, tightening screws, replacing license plates, or making small repairs, they work great. I especially like the compact carrying case. Everything has its own place and stays organized, making the set easy to store and grab when needed. The smaller tape measure is also convenient to carry, and the utility knife is a nice bonus. If you're starting from scratch or just need a convenient set for occasional use, this is a great value and an easy recommendation. ... show more
