  • Customer Support update 2
05/04/22 Was finally contacted by customer support. I told them the condition of second unit and they apologized for condition. They said the only thing they could do is try one more time. I received the 2 gallon dispenser today and in direct sunlight could not find any obvious flaws. My mom said it looks so much clearer than any other and she is 90. It is a beautiful glass work. Worthy of: "MADE IN USA". 04/15/22 I wrote review after a few days of use. Found defects in glass and contacted Oneida & Anchor Hocking. From Sept 2021 to Jan 14 or so tried to get a response and was eMailed they would send a replacement Jan 16, 2022, but I would have to wait 8 to 10 weeks. Never did receive anything after 80 or so days. Started eMails again. No response. Couple weeks latter an Anchor Hocking package was outside. No notice, tracking, nothing. Opened package and replacement had really bad defects, much worse than first. eMailed photos and have never received a response. The original has never leaked in 6 months. My main concern are flaws like this in glass will usually break. Water after all is about 8.33lbs per gallon, or around 20.825lbs with 2.5 gallons it holds. Original review follows Needed water dispenser to replace good but dated 45+ year old ceramic water dispenser. Mom seen the Anchor Hocking Heritage Hill Dispenser and that was it. Spout is inches from the countertop and requires stand, unless you set on edge which usually ends in knock off accident. Paired with X-cosrack Wood Plant Stand, and X-Chef stainless steel spigot, replacement for plastic spout. __________________________________ Anchor Hocking Heritage Hill Dispenser Item model number 93339L14 $29.99 8.84lbs 8.75 x 8.75 x 13.5 inches X-cosrack Wood Plant Stand $15.99 Stand Exactly As Advertised. Wanted sleek but minimalistic looking stand for water container. Easy to install, with included Allen wrench, not Phillips head, thank goodness. Phillips would never sink screw into bamboo wood without stripping head. Lite weight, but very strong, rated at 175lb capacity, and with an 8.84lb dispenser and ~2.5 gallon capacity at 8.34lbs per gallon x 2.5 = 20.85 + 8.84 = 29.69 lbs of glass and water. Visit the X-Chef Store $16.99 X-Chef 2 PCS Stainless Steel Replacement Spigot for Glass Jar & Drink Dispenser. I believe the X-Chef quality is second to none, of the $15 to $20 spigots, and that is 2 for less than average price of one. Installed 2nd on ancient Ceramic dispenser, looks really good and old plastic spigot is gone from it as well. Total $62.97, but remember that is 2 spigots. Tried to write this to help a novice or person looking for good quality products at a descent price, that to me, look really good together. Check out photos. ... show more

  • It's flawless..... but have to replace the spigot
**UPDATE: 1 month into it and the spigot leaks a lot, mainly at the base. I've decided to get stainless steel after all - just need to carefully pick a good one and inspect it before installation (they tend to have metal debris and stains even before first use)** It's exactly what I wanted size wise, glass lid instead of metal lid (which tend to rust), wide mouth so it's easy to pour water into it daily as we distill water at home, acrylic spigot instead of stainless steel (which, again sometimes rust). Not one flaw in the glass so it looks perfect on the counter. It came well packaged with the spigot already installed. I only needed to tighten it and done! Pours fast too. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Do not buy this product, waste of money!
The rubber cap does not fit the top insertion part at all. When you put it into the top of the jars, the cap leaves a 2mm open gap. Then when pouring your liquid out it makes a mess onto your countertop. Also when you put your frozen juice into it and add the water and turn the lid to not allow any pouring out of liquid and want to shake the liquid inside to mix it up well, because the lid does not fit tightly the liquid spills out and makes a mess. Only buy these if you are going to manually mix the liquid in them and then take the useless cap off to pour some out. My mother had ones that looked exactly like these and once the rubber seal was put into the position to block the fluid from coming out. We could shake the liquid up and nothing came out of the top and nothing made a mess. I do not recommend these at all! ... show more

  • No handles, awkward to move.
I got the 2 gallon Anchor dispenser. CON: My biggest problem is that it is very large around and whatever you are wanting to serve in it needs to be poured into it wherever you are serving it at or risk dropping. It was very heavy with two gallons in it and very awkward to hold onto as I moved it with the very sweet tea sloshing around as well. The sides are smooth. Imagine picking up a 2 gallon, very wide jar! The lid has no gasket or rubber so I didn't put it on until I had moved it as I was afraid it was going to fall off, it is just a tad bit loose, just enough to slide back and forth. PROS: This is VERY sturdy. The glass is nice and thick. It was not packaged well just basically in a box no bubble wrap etc for it. It had been dropped, hit, tossed, I don't really know. It arrived with the end of the box where it was at broken thru and when I finished opening it I noticed the seal around the lid was broken. So this had taken some kind of impact that hit hard enough to break the plastic seal around the lid and there isn't even a chip on it!!! It does not leak at the spigot, it has a nice tight seal. Kept the tea nice and cold. I can say there are plans for getting a stand for it as it did make me nervous having the spigot hang over the side of the table. ... show more

  • Old reliable brand came through
These were not the first water pictures I purchased for my refrigerator, (the previous ones shattered all over the place) as I will say, the poor rating made me second-guess this brand that I normally trust. These are 64 ounce glass pitchers, they feel heavy duty and sturdy to me. The glass feels thick enough. I’ve had them for six weeks now and they get a lot of action here, we are big water drinkers in this house, and they are constantly getting pulled in and out of the refrigerator and we have had zero issues. I prefer to take the white lid off when I pour, I saw other people complain about dribbling, but I have found for me, if I take the white part off, there’s no problem. I rather like that They don’t have a handle because one of the other others I purchased previously did have handles and that did not end well because everything is made so cheap these days. The grip indentation serves its purpose perfectly and I don’t miss having a handle.I wish I had just gone with these anchor hocking ones in the first place and saved myself some trouble and loads of cleanup from busted water pictures all over my kitchen. I will likely purchase two more soon as I would like to have a 2 gallon total cold water reserve in my refrigerator. ... show more

  • Meh.
Our first pair of pitchers arrived with one broken; however, this was promptly replaced with another set, so no problem. The pitchers are heavier than I expected, but that’s on me for not checking thoroughly. But the lids do not fit well, they are too small and slip right out. Also, they don’t pour very well, with or without lids. With lid in the proper position, the liquid dribbles out; without the lid it splashes everywhere. I bought Anchor Hocking hoping for a quality product, but am disappointed. ... show more

  • Great large-capacity container
I needed a big water container for my upstairs bathroom to hold filtered water that I draw from my kitchen sink, downstairs. I wanted glass so as not to have to worry about plastic. This container really fit the bill (2 gallon capacity) at an especially reasonable price. The only problem with it is that it has a fairly flimsy plastic tap. Based upon other reviewers' suggestions, I also ordered an all stainless steel Stainless Works tap (to fit a 5/8th' or 16mm) and simply swapped out the taps--an easy job if you get the right diameter tap. Just be careful not overtighten the nut on the tap. Let the silicone washers do their job! You should get a good seal and will know that soon enough when you put water in the container. You also want the nut to be tight enough so that the tap doesn't wiggle when you open and close it. The pour rate is really fast with the stainless tap, until you get near the bottom of the container. I just lift off the glass lid, and pour the last few drinks of water after the water level drops below the tap's interior opening. The lid just sits on top of the container, resting on a purposely rough surface so that you don't have an air lock on the container (otherwise, it wouldn't pour out the tap). When I empty the container, I rinse it and the lid in tap water with a small dash of white vinegar to keep the interior clean. I dump out the rinse water with the vinegar and then do a quick second rinse with tap water before refilling the container. Tip: fill to the shoulder of the container and not above that, so as to avoid sloshing when your are carrying it, and, remember, this container weighs about 25 pounds when full, so handle it carefully! ... show more
