Before I got this book "Introduction to Oil Painting", I knew nothing except how to stretch the canvas. If you know how to understand what you read, you to will know how to paint with oils. It was scarey at first but this book makes it simple for beginners, and if you already know how then its' packed full of tips and ideas for instruction. I like this book very much. This is a slender book, but every page contains gems of information on every aspect of oil painting. The provider -- lettersandkeys -- went the extra mile. Book originally sent was lost in the mails. Lettersandkeys promptly sent a replacement copy -- at no extra charge -- by Priority Mail.

This book has a lot of ideas and great instructions but since I started to use oil paints, I've come to the conclusion that I don't like them because they are messy and difficult to clean up. However, there are a lot of tips, techniques and ideas in this book. I've reviewed the book a couple of times and come to find out, it's cheaper to YouTube painting ideas or google it. I really do feel this is a waste of money. ... show more
