This is a heavy duty blender. It is fairly heavy and takes up a lot of vertical space, although the width has been kept to a minimum. One of the nice things is how the lid works. It doesn't snap in, it sort of squeezes on and fits tightly. It doesn't take a lot of effort to get it off. The lid is two pieces so you can get the included food tamper through the lid without removing it entirely, or to add ingredients. We put in about a quarter of the container volume in ice and added the other ingredients for a smoothie. It blasted through the ice like it wasn't even there. In less than a minute of blending it achieve a smooth consistency with not even a hint of the ice bits. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the controls. It goes through it pretty well in the manual, but there's a bunch of button pressing to run it. It would be nice if you could just immediately pulse the blades, but you can't, you have to 'arm' it, select what you want to do, then press it again, that sort of thing. I also don't like the pause before it takes off. It makes you feel like you didn't push the button right. It'll take some getting used to I suppose. Overall, I'd put this up against any of the high end blenders you see out there for a lot less money.

I truly loved this blender for smoothies. The texture of my drinks is great and the different speeds and varieties make it really versatile. It comes with a big tooth brush to help with cleaning the blades and washing out the container.

Based on the first 2 uses—one for a smoothie and the other a puree—this blender seems worthy of purchase. Read instructions before using. I first tried to put ice in, then my fruit and nothing really seemed to happen. I then read instructions and applying a different method, I broke the ice up first using the ice crush option. This allowed for the ice to jump up as it was being crushed, something it couldn't do with the fruit in. Then I applied the fruit—bananas and pineapple, pushed puree and allowed it to operate, and the finished product came out well. The main thing I liked about it is of course the finished product, almost a perfect blend. The smoothie came out better than any store-bought smoothie. It also comes with its own cleaning brush, which is always a plus.

The media could not be loaded. *Please watch the video to the end* because I learned a lot about this blender as I kept working with it. At first, I thought the settings were fairly static - select the mode and let the machine work. Then I learned that you can actually control each setting with a variable motor speed which is incredible to me! I am a little concerned about the inability to remove the blades for cleaning but, at this point, I have been able to simply clean the machine by blending hot water with dish soap. The parts are definitely not dishwasher safe. The motor and blades make quick work of hard fruit, veggies, and even ice. This is the most impressive blender I have ever owned and highly recommend. The large capacity is a plus and it looks really great in the kitchen.

This is a power-house of a blender. I particularly like its large capacity that can whip up smoothie for a whole family and much more. The blades are strong and sharp, while the motor is strong enough to handle the amount of ice, fruit or other things you might want to mix in it. Still, I have to point to one feature that I found questionable -- I was surprised that a blender at this retail price-point, just a bit under two-hundred dollars as of this writing, comes with a plastic blender canister. Although this plastic canister is of a good quality as far as such things go, I really expected that for this money the manufacturer would have provided a glass one; other blenders I've owner at far less expensive prices have had that. This prompts me to deduct one-star from what I'd otherwise give this blender.
