Definitely order up a size. I usually wear a XL, ordered 2XL,and honestly would have ordered a 3XL if they made them. But 2XL is comfortable and these are my new favorites. Perfect length (@ bottom of knee) Terry cloth, and thin. Not thin thin, but are on the thinner side and I run hot, so they are perfect. Terry is my favorite and hard to find. Usually only in really expensive stuff. Pockets fit my big a$$ Samsung phone and it won't fall out. (but they could be a bit bigger) I will be buying more of these, and in different colors ... show more

These shorts are really close to being great. The fabric is wonderful - genuine cotton, not super thin and not overly thick, good pockets; decent length drawstring (could be a touch longer, but okay); the waist and hips fit true to size. However, the bottom of the shorts is like a pair of bell bottom/flares from the 70's. The have an "A frame" at the bottom, and balloon out. My legs are not huge, but they are not small either. To me, this is simply a design flaw, one I have not experienced with other shorts. Too bad, because if this flaw didn't exist, I'd buy a bunch of them. ... show more
