These do an extremely good job of bringing the sound directly to your ear and allowing you to turn down the volume to about 30% and still hear everything loud and clear. People sharing your space or within earshot will appreciate this. Atmospheric sounds (like the humming of a space ship or HVAC system) sound way better with these muffs and I felt more immersed in the game. For games like Half Life Alyx, I think these make it an overall better experience. Unfortunately (and I blame this 100% on the crappy audio hardware of the Quest 2) some types of sounds (especially higher pitch) and music become muffled, and the steady humming sounds from the amplifier are noticeable during quieter moments or clicking through menus. I see other reviews saying the same and I agree with them. If you're an audiophile looking for high fidelity sound, I just don't think it's possible with an Oculus Quest 2. I've even plugged in very high quality headphones into this headset and the muffling effect / humming is still there just like with these ear muffs. Besides the above, these also had some unadvertised advantages for me. My headset used to always pull off my prescription glasses with it when I took of the headset - but there's something about the smooth silicone of these that my glasses slide on them and actually stay on my face when I come out of the headset! Also, sometimes my ears get cold and these provide just the right amount of cover to warm up my ears a few degrees. One last thing - I almost returned these because I hadn't properly attached them to my headset - I missed the first hole that I was supposed to route the straps through. If they're not lining up with your ears, or flopping outwards when you put it on (like dog ears), you're probably doing it wrong. Ear muffs work fantastic!!! I had to turn down the volume from max to half!!!! Only complaint is that it really didn't block out the light. 4 stars still cause the main reason I purchased this was for the sound

Adds great sound quality and comfortable. Time to elaborate - you will not be disappointed for the money. I did not expect much but figured I would give them a shot. I now only have to keep the volume at the lowest setting and it comes in fine. I do notice that I can hear the hiss from the processing at times but I'm actually impressed with the sound overall, do these compete with an audiophile's expectations? This product looks like it would work very well, but sadly I'll never know. These earmuffs DO NOT fit halo straps. I own a Bobovr M2 headstrap and the hinge at the front gets in the way of installation.

It works way better then bulky headphones. It improves the sounds for your Oculus 2. Next time you use your Oculus 2 put your hands over your ears and you will see why this product is a must have.

what to tell you? i expected a sound improvement, instead if focus and amplifies the existing sound making it louder but less clear and crisp. also blasted my ears the first time, so half volume is advised. not what i expected. i was expecting a more focused and better sound firing more into my ears, rather than scatter with the original exposed speakers. i can't tell that beat saber sounds better in those. i tried 5 linking park songs and it's OK. ... show more
