  • Can’t beat the price, I printed my own 3d body to attached to my dslr.
I’m siding this with a 3d printed body and adapter to fit my D850. The results are on the soft side, not sharp. But for the price, you can’t beat it. I did needed up buying a dedicate micro lens tho. But for the price, is 5 stars to get into the hobby.

  • Works great on dSLR
This is a great little objective. RMS mount but not infinity focused of course (those are expensive). Which means I could mount onto my dSLR and take 4x magnification macro shots. There’s a little more to it of course… need an M42 to RMS adapter, then a step up ring from M42 to M52M. That’s just an example - what you really do will depend on your digital camera. One thing to remember is that this is a 160mm focus point. So to get it to focus onto your camera’s sensor, you’ll need a bellows (probably). A Nikon has a flange distance of 46.5mm, plus the objective usually takes something like 10mm off the 160mm distance to accommodate the microscope. So a bellows set to 103.5mm will get you a sharp focus (160 less 10 less 46.5). Your subject will also have to be well lit, in combination with a higher ISO. ... show more

  • fine product, poor packaging for shipping
The product is exactly how I expected. It's fine. The problem is how Amazon packaged it for shipping. An envelope is not sufficient to protect the item in shipping. The outer clear plastic case was crushed during shipping. The lens survived shipping without damage, but now I don't have a safe storage container for it. ... show more

  • Works great.
They flattened the field of view.

  • Needs better shipping packaging
Storage container arrived cracked. Shipping package was a padded envelope and inadequate to protect contents. Lens assembly is as advertised. Image is clear and undisturbed to my eye. (I have no way to evaluate performance more objectively.)

  • Superpassed my expectation
I get a clear 228lp/mm or 2.19 line width (not line pair width) verified resolution [see image - chromium on glass test target, group 7 line 2 is 228 lp/mm) from this little guy using white light table (no condenser) - which is quite good given that the Rayleigh criterion for blue light (450nm) suggests resolution of 2.74 for NA of 0.1 as this objective is. Granted, Rayleigh criterion is not the strictest but for $24 this is pretty amazing. UPDATE When imaging dark areas, there is some vignetting - not too much. This is normal ... show more

  • They are excellent. Much better focus towards the edges
Bought the 4x, 10x, and 40x Plan obj's. They are excellent. Much better focus towards the edges. Only complaint is that I now have the original obj's that I don't use. Amscope should offer the Plan obj's. as an upgrade when you buy the microscope and explain their advantages. or offer a slightly reduced "Upgrade" price. Amscope, are you listening? ... show more
