  • Compelling and Useful Book for All
This book, unlike other leadership books, helps me create results while doing what I do most - Follow. Even as a "Titled Executive", as Finegan calls it, I spend most of my time following other leaders. This book helped me understand how to help amplify their results in order to create the best outcomes for our entire organization. With regard to the writing itself, I really enjoyed the use of both metaphors and case-based examples. Finegan uses a diverse set of CEOs and teams that are still successful today, as well as historical circumstances that we can all relate to. Finally, Finegan intentionally uses nongendered pronouns through his writing. I find this accessible as a woman and also appreciate the inclusivity for my non-binary colleagues. I would recommend this book to anyone looking to expand their leadership book collection or looking to make an impact in their organization. ... show more

  • New Take on Followership and Leadership
Amazed that there isn't more out there on this topic. There's so much on leadership, but very little research or ideas on followership. This book has such great insight on followers and how organizations can best leverage them to have a greater impact on the organization. Every organization should reorient their "leadership" classes to focus on followership instead. Tons of great real world relatable examples of followership in action. Also, so many good strategies for individual go-getters to up their game to be True Amplifiers. Awesome read! ... show more

  • Bringing a fresh perspective to effective leadership
"Amplifiers don't get hung up on achieving perfection, but they never settle for mediocrity." A well-developed, nuanced view of what it takes to really take leadership to the next level, or become an Amplifier. Unlike other leadership books - this one does two things throughout: it stays focused, giving detailed examples of the topics at hand without droning on, and it left me with tangible action items to focus on to improve my own leadership and followership in hopes to "amplify" my effectiveness both in the office and in life in general. ... show more

  • Great read - a new look at leadership
This book is an easy read that highlights the importance of followership and leadership. It provides a useful perspective on amplifier traits, styles, and motives. I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in leadership growth.

  • Forget Leadership, Focus on Followership
This book provided a very different perspective on leadership - in fact, it turns leadership on its head and emphasizes the importance of followership. I enjoyed this perspective, particularly the addition of the stories of community and business leaders like former Governor Deval Patrick, John Hope Bryant, and others. I definitely recommend this book for others. ... show more

  • Adds to the "leadership" conversation
Amplifiers dives into the secret sauce: the intersection of leadership and followership abilities. So much is written about and focused on the former, that we often forget about the value of the latter. I learned a lot from this book that I'll be using in my own career.
