This little monster truck was loads of fun this week when we babsat our grandsons. It's got grippy rubber tires and really has a lot of get up and go. There are lights on it that make it look really cool and were a huge hit, especially with my husband lol! It came with two rechargeable batteries which is great because you're never out of commission. The reason for taking off one star is the controller. If you push slightly downward on the joysticks it shuts off the controller. It took us a while to figure this out. We ended up changing batteries only to have it keep happening. When it does happen you have to actually turn it back on with the on off switch. This isn't a big deal for my husband when he was driving it around, but for the kids, it's a bit frustrating. Maybe it's meant to protect the joysticks? Whatever the reason, it's annoying. I feel like the price is slightly high because of the controller quirks. It feels a little cheap and may not be so durable. We didn't end up attaching the tiny little embellishments that come with because they seemed like a waist of time and added nothing much to the truck.

Dafotil Amphibious Remote Control Monster Truck comes with batteries for the remote along with rechargeable battery plus another rechargeable battery which is nice can keep one charging while playing with the truck and can swap out if runs out of power. The battery holds a long life we still haven't had to charge yet and have been playing with it everyday for a week. I love the LED expressive eyes this impressed us for they move and open/close making it look like a real serious monster truck that is ready for serious business! Comes with exhaust pipes to attach with these tiny tiny tiny screws - I tried and went no just no - as they are not needed for functionality rather looks - I do love when toys come ready to play less installing batteries - at this value all should be attached in consideration of children ready to play but I think I have put enough toys together in my lifetime thankfully my Son was all for play and attach another time or just won't. Comes with a mini screwdriver which need to attach the exhaust pipes and open battery door to connect rechargeable battery. Took us a second to get the hang of forward/backwards and turns but once get the hang of it turns and drives as it should. On the remote there is a button that will put it in spin/donut mode which is pretty cool! This definitely is amphibious!!! I love to test products like this to make sure they really are amphibious! I headed straight to our pool and drove it right off the pool deck and into the pool! Impressed - does turns and drives as if on land. Only difference between water/land - on water drives a little slower but still super cool without any damage and never sank. This is a cool monster truck that is definitely built like a kids toy with plastic but is lightweight. The truck has ran off edges, hit rocks, up held our black lab dog taking off with it, and in/out of water - durable for kids play! Recommend!

What I like: -The truck was able to ride over all the surfaces I threw at it including grass, mulch, and medium-sized rocks. It did have some trouble turning on the grass though. -It is truly 4-wheel drive, with each pair of wheels (right or left) mechanically linked. -The eyes are animated and give the truck some personality. -The truck comes with an extra set of decorative metal plates and some removable accessories, allowing for customization. -The battery compartment is sealed quite well with a gasket to keep out water. The waterproofing is a good selling point, and it means that you don't need to worry about where your child decides to drive the truck into. -It has a small wheel on the back to make wheelies easier to pull off. In demo mode it will automatically do a wheelie which is fun. -The box art is fun and really pops, making this a good gift for a kid. What could be improved: -The item photos state that it has an "alloy material car shell", but it's really just a plastic shell with some thin metal plates attached to it for decoration. I think this is a bit of dishonest advertising. -The controller feels very cheap, and in general it is a difficult truck to control since it uses tank controls. This means that both sticks need to be held forward for the truck to drive straight. I think kids could get easily frustrated with the control scheme. -The truck movement is a bit twitchy, and since the controls are only digital (on or off) you cannot choose how fast the truck moves. It's either full-blast or stopped.

This is a really cool little RC truck and probably one of the more unique ones we have tried. The biggest feature by far is that it truly is amphibious. You do not have to panic every time kids head toward puddles because this thing is literally built for water play. It floats surprisingly well, handles puddles with no issue, and even did fine in deeper water and some bathtub testing. The battery compartment and electronics seem very well sealed too. There are silicone gaskets and protective seals throughout, which definitely gave me more confidence letting the kids drive it through mud and water. Even after repeated puddle runs, it kept performing well. I also really like the styling details. The LED “eyes” in the windshield are a fun touch and give it a lot of personality, especially for kids. The headlights add to the overall experience too and make it feel more exciting than a basic RC car. The controls are simple once you realize it drives more like a tank than a traditional RC vehicle. The wheels do not physically turn left and right. Instead, it steers based on wheel speed and direction, which actually works pretty well for this type of truck. Speed-wise, this is definitely more about versatility than racing. It is not super fast, but it feels steady, capable, and grounded. It handles rough terrain, puddles, grass, and water much better than many faster RC cars would. I also appreciate that it comes with two rechargeable batteries. That makes a huge difference because one can charge while the other is in use. I am not sure I fully believe the “100+ minutes” marketing claim though. In our experience, one battery gave roughly around 20 minutes or so of active play, including water use. Overall, this thing is just a blast. Durable, waterproof, easy to use, and incredibly fun for kids. Mine immediately drove it through every puddle they could find like tiny chaos goblins on a mission. For around $40, it honestly feels like a really good value considering how versatile and entertaining it is.

I picked up this amphibious remote control truck as a gift, and it has been a huge hit. If you have a kid in that 6 to 12 year age range who loves monster trucks, they are going to lose their minds over this thing, especially the glowing LED eyes, which look awesome when it’s getting dark outside. It really is all terrain. It transitions from grass to pavement easily, and it floats and drives in the water. The 4WD gives it enough torque to flip over and keep going, which is great because it means fewer trips for you to go rescue a stuck toy. It comes with two batteries. You absolutely need both. One battery gives you about 15–20 minutes of solid, hard playtime before it starts lagging. Having the second one charged and ready to swap out is the only way to avoid immediate disappointment when the first one dies. It seals up well enough to handle being fully submerged, but I suggest you wipe it down and let the battery compartment air out after a pool session just to keep it running smoothly. It’s a great, high energy gift for birthdays or the holidays. It feels a little plasticky out of the box, but it takes a beating and keeps going. Just make sure you charge both batteries before gifting it so they can tear open the box and start driving right away!
