The media could not be loaded. Needed some late afternoon shade protection on our covered patio. I wanted something that would hold up to our summer heat (100+), wouldn’t fade, and would let airflow in through the weave. I looked at outdoor curtains and couldn’t find any thing that fit the bill (or my wallet). Then I thought about the shade cloth that I use in my garden during the heat of summer. After searching, I found white shade cloth (8’ H x 25’ L). I bought this, split the length in half and added some extra grommets along the height. Hung them on a home-made curtain rod, using plastic shower curtain rings. Voila, perfect patio curtains at a fraction of the price. What I’ve noticed is that the weave keeps the harsh sun out, lets airflow through, and is a privacy curtain (if that’s something you’re interested in). I can now put my potted plants on the patio without them getting cooked by the 2pm scorching summer sun.

I've ordered several of these recently. Only time will tell how SUN-PROOF they are. I live in AZ, so the sun is brutal. The only near term critique I have is "how long will they last. They are NOT Sunbrella Fabric, so we'll see on that. Also, the measures are to the nearest foot. 8'x22' is measured to MAX Stretch. The measure stated, in my view is rough cut, BEFORE they lap the edges for eyelets. . So in a sense, and 8' wide, become 7'9" cover. 2" sewn Lap all around. So when ordering keep that in mind and ORDER larger to your needed cover measurement. I wish they would give full cut cover, not cheated by 2" each side. .8' is NOT 8' cover. It's 7'9" cover, taut.

Quoted $15,000 for a new wood fence. This proved to be an alternative for a few season. I used 4 rolls of the 8x50 and stained wood to cover seams and top edge. I think It looks good. I stapled the screen to the wood fence and the secured with screws under the wood boarder.
