  • It worked beautifully!!!!
I have been struggling with screen protectors for many years. I have tried many, tempered glass, adhesive film, you name it. It always seems impossible to get a perfect installation. So it is to my surprise that the amFilm Ultra Glass installed perfectly the first time around. I was initially put off by the higher price compared to brands, but I am glad I made the purchase. The installation materials worked perfectly and the YouTube video was straight forward. No need to read the instructions. There you have it. You get what you paid for! ... show more

  • They ain't lying
I mean, this thing is good. It works. But, you do have to follow the directions, so it might not be for everyone. They did forget to add the part in the video where it shows using the dust removal sticker, but I mean there is a sticker that says on it "dust removal sticker" in the package, so I put two and two together. It is super clear and the finger print reader works very well compared to some of the others I have tried, the weight placed on the fingerprint reader during the installation is a nice touch to guarantee it works. One the previous ones I have used you had to turn up touch sensitivity to make it work with the fingerprint reader, this one I had to turn it off to make it work. I did add two finger prints to ensure easy recognition. I would recommend this to everyone but, would do it for my mother. Make sure you understand the installation. ... show more

  • This is the WORST screen protector and install experience ever
I have been using screen protectors on every smart phone I have ever had, dating back to 2003, and as I have installed over a dozen glass screen protectors on my Note 3 and Note 8 prior to this (they really DO save your screen from cracking when you have a good one and I am proof of that.). I have mostly used Zagg for their glass before, even with the curved screen on the Note 8, and never had a problem with the side adhesion. But they don’t make a glass version for the Note 20 ultra that seems viable, and I have read reviews that led me to try the amFilm Glass Screen Protector with the liquid installation for the glass screen. I was apprehensive about going the liquid adhesive route, and my worst fears were confirmed. The amFilm was the WORST install experience, worst process, and worst product I have ever used, and I caution anyone to beware. I know there are people who like it, and I applaud those who survive the trek, but I am tech savvy, not faint of heart, and I was defeated by this product. First The install video and instructions—they go merrily on their way but don’t provide you with any tips about what to do if you install has a glitch—how to remedy it or go back. That was a real problem for me when it didn’t go according to plan, and there was no place to get an answer. i.e. what to do if you get bubbles in the middle or areas just won't dry out, or if the screen moves and partially covers the front camera. I followed the directions exactly but had a dime sized bubble in the middle that I couldn't move. I didn't want to cure it like that because then I assumed it would be stuck, (again no documentation or help menu to tell me. I was really unhappy about that. More later), so I had to peel up from a corner about halfway, then let it reseal itself. The liquid was still there so I had to tried to 'squeegee" it out with a tool I have. Didn't get it all out. Unlike on a typical screen install where you can get those bubbles out, this is different, and it left big bubbles in each corner, and the protector also slid up to rest halfway over the camera opening which affected the picture, despite what their FAQ said. In the process of all of this the plastic guide you use for the install also broke. I wanted to call a help line but they don’t have one, just an email support address, not helpful when you need help right away. So I called Amazon and there solution was for me to return it and they would give me a refund. So I peeled the crappy installation off and was going to bring it to a drop off location. But then I figured, hey, there are two screens, let me look for a better YouTube video and try again. I found a much more user friendly YouTube video with instructions, and it looked like it would have worked, but then UV light crapped out. It came on briefly for a few seconds, then went off, did that a few intermittent times, then nothing. And without the UV light you can’t cure the glue and it is a disaster. Again I scoured the TechMatte’s website and the internet for help about other ways to cure the glue, other alternatives I might find for the UV light at 8 pm at night. Finally I went to Home Depot and bought two UV light devices to see if they might work (both types of sanitizers), but they did nothing. So I ended up taking the phone out of the holder and of course it was squishy and bubbled, and I had to peel it off and clean the goop off my screen. Fortunately I was able to get it off. The only response I got from TechMatte was to ask me for my order number from Amazon. Nothing after that despite multiple emails from me. So user beware. I have never written such a scathing review of a product before, but I am compelled to share my experience with those who are looking for an honest response. If I could give this a 0 I would. ... show more

  • Nice shapped Glass and easy install but tools need some perfecting.
I’ve installed a whitestone protector in the past and this is on par as far as installation but I’m not sure the “tools” are as good. It fit the case with no issue and not sure it would interfere for most cases. I read some mentioned they had issue with a rugged case but I’d have to assume being ruggedized the case also has a cover over the screen which would probably not work well with any additional screen protector (glass, gel, film...). The alignment tray came with the side pads installed to absorb extra liquid adhesive but this made it very snug. I didn’t force it but it was tight and the tray broke at the bottom left corner. I didn’t notice it but the way it broke it looks like there was a crack before I started. This is probably the most disappointing thing that happened because now if I need to use the second protector application could be rather difficult (but not impossible). The slide tool worked perfectly fine. The speaker protection tab didn’t feel like it actually set well in the groove or make contact with the speaker area of the phone. There was no adhesive that made it into the speaker but in all fairness the excess ran to the bottom of the phone not the top. Even after using the UV to cure I noticed more liquid coming out of the bottom. I used the UV light as directed and noticed a bit of liquid adhesive at the bottom so I used it a minute more. That seemed to resolve the extra liquid not curing. The liquid adhesive did spread out well using the tray and slide tool. I fault myself for being a bit off in putting the adhesive slightly off center of the phone. Nevertheless it did fully cover under the phone. However it did end up with 4 very small bubbles. I actually thought it was lint I had overlooked but the phone was straight from the box and the protective plastic peeled. I also used rubber gloves to avoid any possible fingerprints. After a bit of looking I realized these 4 small dots were bubbles. I have no idea how it would form as it was spreading very nicely. After a bit of stress I opted to lift the top of the glass which allowed the bubbles to move. I did this a few times and allowed the adhesive to settle again. It now looked very uniform and was ready to cure with the UV light. Side note…. As I did this, I noticed I could easily reposition the glass to where I felt it should be and looked the best. I took my time and positioned the camera cut out perfectly in my opinion before moving on. TLDR: It is a decent glass screen protector but I favor UV applications. The alignment tray broke which is a pain and I had to lift the glass before curing it to help remove all imperfections. Excess glue will run out but cure it longer with the UV than the directions say to prevent leakage. The “tools” of the kit could use some improvement but overall I am pleased so far with the protector. ... show more
