I suggest mounting a 2x4 (or the piece of wood provided in the box) to your studs FIRST- then mount the fireplace to the wood. It's an extra step, but will save you a lot of frustration with drywall and feels much sturdier.

I would recommend this product if you’re looking for an inexpensive way to clean up a living space. Behind wall power kits really help complete the look. Also, if you don’t want to be forced to mount between 4 studs using the existing brackets, then mount where you would like using your own quality drywall anchors. Following, 2 10x10” steel L brackets for shelving can be used to support on 2 studs from the back of the unit and the bottom with 5/8” wood screws. Steel L brackets can hold 100lbs each normally so the unit is very secure when finished and doesn’t break the bank. Just make sure the L bracket is flat on both sides so you can tuck it under and behind to maintain the floating look. Overall, good product and am pleased with my purchase. 4 stars for the wall mounting supplied but easily fixable as mentioned above. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I do really like this fireplace but was slightly underwhelmed once it was up. I think I expected to be WOW’d and wasn’t. Don’t get me wrong, it is nice but would I buy it again? Probably not. At least not at this price. And don’t get me started on the assembly. My daughter & I put this together but it took almost 3 hours. I admit we are not experienced when it comes to this but we did it! We spent a lot of time trying to make sense of the instructions. Thankfully we had a sound guy coming to install a tv and he mounted it for us. I don’t think that part would have gone well. 😒 ... show more

I read reviews and make key decisions based off what I get from owners of stuff. With that being said, this is a really nice looking product! The ending effect you get in the room is amazing for the money it costs. The heating output is really good. The fan is quiet enough to not interfere with TV viewing or music. And the remote is fine. The issue with this product is its wall mounting system! The directions leave a massive amount to be desired, and the brackets themselves could NEVER hold this thing on the wall...NEVER!! The brackets aren't set a distance apart that corresponds to the studs in the wall (16" on center), so if you think the little clips and drywall screws will hold please have your touch up plaster ready. I had to completely build a mounting system out of 2x4 and wood screws. Unless I got a bad box, I don't see how others are saying they put this together and hung it on the wall without using studs. Again, the product is great so I'll still rate it highly, but in my experience there is no way a novice could put this together and mount it with the tools and directions given. ... show more

Quiet and looks good. Modest heat. Overall a good value. Disliked the mounting hardware. Extremely complicated to put the four adjusting anchors on the unit and sending plaster mollies to anchor 80lbs is not a smart idea. Three of the eight inserts came loose while hanging it. A straight bar that anchors into two or more studs would be much stronger and probably cheaper. Modified it to keep from falling off the wall. I mounted a 1x2 to the carcass and used stud finder and screwed it into the wall. See pics. Used two “L” brackets towards the top against the wall anchoring into the wall studs again and putting short screws towards the inside of top shelf. This shouldn’t be this complicated. Missing bumper pads for the two doors. No glue for the dowels. Overall it came out nice with extra effort. Wifey is pleased. ... show more
