This tv stand is a great value for the price. It is obviously made of mdf but the completed stand is extremely sturdy. It looks more expensive than it is. I am a 50-something female and I was able to put it together by myself. There are a lot of pieces but everything is clearly labeled. The instructions are pictures only but easy to follow. It took me about 2 and a half hours to complete but I kept stopping to watch the football game. It's not hard to put together but it is very time consuming. It wouldn't have taken me as long to complete if I had waited on my husband to get home from work so that he could help me. A lot of the reviewers stated that their unit arrived damaged. My unit arrived in pristine condition. I only purchased the unit because I needed a tv stand and this stand is aesthetically gorgeous. We found this and at first, laughed, because really it’s the cutest idea!! Why haven’t we gotten one of these before!? Then, we couldn’t believe the PRICE.... then we ordered it and couldn’t believe how FAST it got here (2 days) Then we put it together and still can’t believe how much we love it!!! It is ALOT to put together but NOT HARD. Go slow and read the instructions carefully. (They are not great). if you follow them, it’ll eventually come together. Once it’s together you may have to wipe away a bit of glue (comes right off) and polish a bit from handling but you are going to be VERY happy. We put the fireplace on the front and at first we laughed, but then we turned it on! It’s the cutest!!! And within a few minutes the “fire” climbs and looks even better. The heater WORKS surprisingly well! Course it’s electric so we won’t be using it! But it ABSOLUTELY throws heat!! All around this is exactly what we wanted. It’s a great, sturdy tv stand, looks good, and the fireplace is the cherry on top... GET THIS. ... show more

I gave an extra star because it is assembled in America and 70% of the parts are made here in the USA. That being said that is just about the only redeeming quality. To begin, there is way too much styrofoam in the box, I'm gonna be cleaning this mess up for weeks, you can never get it all in one go. Secondly, the materials are very cheap and not very sturdy, had lots of chips in the "wood" upon arrival. Lastly, let me tell you...I find zen in putting things together...but this thing right here sent me straight to furniture hell where I cursed, I cried, I screamed into the void. The instructions are not very clear and let me tell you, once you put the top part of the stand on you are going to have some very stark realizations about everything you just screwed in. That last piece will undo everything you just did and make you question all ability you have to put anything together ever. Now given all the negative, I will say, the fireplace is really cool. Makes your room cozy and you can run just the fire without running the heater. It in itself is responsible for a star. I have a love hate relationship with this thing and it may not hold up, but I believe the fireplace heater will so that makes it fairly worth it to me. Great heat output, lovely flames and ambience, sturdy, modern yet matches all decor, versatile, easily reconfigured, easily moved! 4 years and 4 moves later, still amazing! Heat is the perfect temperature to actually warm a room, yet not too hot to burn little toddler fingers! Baby and dogs love sitting in front of it. It has worked in our first tiny house and now with a spacious updated home! I've used it by itself for storage and decor on the top, as shown, as well as with a 55 inch TV sitting on top of it. I absolutely love this piece! If you're hesitant about it, go with the espresso finish, it has matched everything beautifully! ... show more

This is the first piece of furniture I ever ordered online and I love it. It's a very nice piece of furniture to set a 65" TV on. It's in my RV and looks impressive. It took me a couple hours to put together, but I'm sure you could do it a lot faster. The instructions are easy to read with large pictures that make it very clear what goes where. I needed a Phillips screwdriver but nothing else. I originally wanted black, but black sold out so I ended up getting brown. The brown is very nice and I'm glad I got it. The box was very large and heavy and fortunately I had someone to help get it into the RV; I don't think I could have carried it on my own. While putting it together, I kept thinking about the Amazon reviews in which people complained about never getting this put together. They are hilarious. There is nothing crazy-difficult about putting this together. Also, more than enough screws, etc were provided with the product. If you want to be sure it stays together, you might use wood glue. ... show more

I had high hopes for this TV stand based on the other reviews. After the experience of trying to put this together, I have no idea why they were so good! First - I ordered the black version and it came out of the box completely scratched up. The damage could not have been done during shipping because the box was in good condition and the scratches were on the main panels of the unit that were surrounded in styrofoam. Second - two of the pieces had major manufacturer defects. The holes didn't go all the way through, so the pieces would not fit together. Third - the set contains two different kinds of screws but they don't clearly differentiate them in the instruction manual. We ended up using the longer screws on the bottom and they busted through the veneer in places. So by the time this thing was actually assembled it already looked terrible! I absolutely hate it and will not be using it in my living room. I would return it but it's huge and difficult to manage. I have photos of the defects and will upload them if I can figure out how to do so. Avoid the hassle and find something higher quality!!! ... show more
