I absolutely LOVE my television stand with electric fireplace. Not only was it a great value but is also very well made and sturdy. The fireplace can be operated remotely and has several flame settings, and can be used without heat, if you are just looking for the ambiance the fireplace creates. It is quite heavy, so I paid the extra cost to have it delivered and placed in the room where I wanted it. I live in a third floor apartment, so it was well worth it! My daughter assembled it alone and it took an entire afternoon. I feel it would go much faster with two people, but my sweet daughter wouldn’t allow me to lift a finger to help. I only had one problem with the fireplace unit itself. Even though my daughter and I tested the unit and it worked beautifully, I hadn’t turned the fireplace on for several days after assembly. As I was watching television one afternoon, an alarming thing happened. The fireplace began trying to turn itself off and on repeatedly with the flames trying to start and then turning off. I couldn’t turn it off with the remote and had to unplug it in order for it to stop! I immediately phoned the company who manufactured the fireplace and they emailed me with a list of information they needed, such as proof of purchase, description of the problem,etc. Upon my return email to the company, I promptly received notification that they were shipping a replacement fireplace unit to me. I received it in just a few days. The company was very helpful. My daughter returned to my home and replaced the unit and it is working fine. A couple of suggestions I would offer to anyone purchasing this beautiful piece of furniture: Try to plug the unit into a wall outlet, but if you must use a surge protector for an additional outlet, once you turn the unit off, be certain to unplug the fireplace from the surge protector after each use. I’m certain that will prevent the scary incident I experienced. I would definitely recommend this item to anyone thinking about purchasing such an item! ... show more

    • Really enjoy this stand!
Assembly did take about 2.5 hours, but for the most part I was able to do it alone except for a couple steps that took two people to line things up properly. The overall quality is very good for the price and the fireplace is surprisingly effective. Looks great, has lots of options for "flame" levels and an adjustable thermostat. It's silent with just the "flames" and the fan for heat is almost inaudible. Puts out a good amount of heat. The rest of the piece just has a nice look in my living room with my 55 inch TV on it and other home video/audio components. Very clean and attractive. Only downside would probably be the packaging of the fireplace. My fireplace came damaged (cracked and broken "logs"). Ameriwood customer service is stellar though, they sent me a replacement quickly and with no fuss whatsoever. Problem is the replacement I was sent is also damaged due to it being so lightly packaged. However, the replacements damage isn't noticeable from a distance so I'm just going to go with it. I can't blame Ameriwood for FedEx handling their packages poorly. Very happy with this TV stand overall. ... show more

Okay so it's not a "real" fireplace but come on. This is more than a mood setter. It's tranquility after a stressful day, the "aah" when you just want to curl-up and read or even the soft glow under the TV because you can. We live in Florida where honestly you can count on one hand how many times the heater gets turned on or you get the opportunity to enjoy a fire pit outside. Since you can enjoy the ambiance without the heat until you "need" it, its truly a wonderful entertainment center. Over all the construction is what everyone jokes about when getting an Ikea piece, but just put on some music, and laugh through it or you may cry. Besides a single scratch on what would be the inside panel, the unit cam very well packaged and wrapped. Would highly recommend. ... show more

    • Set-up a breeze Until...
The setup isn't too bad - There are pictures and they are very straightforward. Took us 2 about 5 hours. We aren't super experienced but it is a big piece. We got to step 13 which is the tempered glass doors. The doors do not properly align with the boxes that are attached to the side panels. It's very annoying to receive something & do everything right, just to have blocks that don't work at all. Now we will spend our afternoon spending MORE money on wooden boxes to attach to the main panels & painting them to match... I would do a refund but at this point it is more of a pain in the ass than anything else ... show more

Had this stand for about 2 weeks. Took about two house to assemble with two people. Instruction were not the best they could have but I have seen MUCH worse. Looks great and fireplace works and looks great. Throws a decent amount of heat for what it is. (Makes for a good backup) the only gripe would be the quality of the topper. The corners chip very easily and I feel like over time it will more then like peel to some degree. But at this price it is certainly the best value around. ... show more

Looks great but my fireplace unit makes weird clicking sounds when the “flames” are on. Is this normal? Not sure if my unit has a problem or this is happens with all of them?

I bought this for my parents and it ended up being much higher quality than I expected! Assembly took longer than I anticipated with 2 people, but at $300, it's still worth the hassle. The fireplace works, but that's as much as I know bc my 70 year old mom doesn't use any of it's many functions - just on/off. Overall, I'd definitely buy again! ... show more

I would give it 5 stars if the fireplace insert didn't have a heavy layer of dust in it. I cannot figure out how to clean that.
