After I bought this blanket, I noticed a bunch of reviews stating this blanket isn’t waterproof. So, before my dog could pee on the blanket and potentially soil yet another set of sheets, I dumped a cup of water on this blanket to see how waterproof it really is. I’m happy to report not a single drop made it through the blanket, it all stayed pooled on top until I eventually cleaned it up. Bought this blanket about three months ago. I have a 45lb dog and a 60lb dog who sleep on my bed, and this blanket has been in use since I got it. It does seem to be waterproof. It has been puked on a couple times, and nothing soaked through. Granted, it wasn't a lot of puke, so I can't say how it would do with a large quantity. The blanket is holding up well. The dogs jump up on it and walk on it, and no nails have poked through. It has been in the washing machine about seven or eight times, and no signs of any threads coming loose. My only complaint, and the reason for four stars instead of five, is the fabric is a little slick and the blanket slides around a bit. But overall, a good blanket. EDIT: I've had the blanket a little over a year. I use it all the time, and it gets washed at least every two weeks - or more often if necessary. It has held up to the repeated washings, no threads coming loose or fraying edges. But, it does seem to lose some of its waterproof-ness the more it gets washed. Moisture does seem to soak through more now than it did when it was newer. But still, overall a good blanket. ... show more

I have an elderly dog that has accidents and gets on my bed. I purchased this to protect the bed but it is NOT WATERPROOF!!! She fell asleep and peed on my bed when I stepped outside of the house. Unfortunately, urine got through the blanket, a comforter, two sets of sheets into a VERY EXPENSIVE mattress! I will NEVER EVER buy this product and you shouldn't either. FALSE ADVERTISING. This was great until I washed it… It must come with something like Scotchgard at first that then washes off in the washing machine. After two washes it is no longer waterproof AT ALL. I could initially easily spot clean pet messes off of it but now it’s useless for that.
