I originally got this from a coworker who had too many bags of it at home and don’t want it to expire. So glad I tried it! Love this mild coffee, does not irritate my stomach like a lot of others. I’m finding as I’m getting older (late 40s) that more than 2 cups of coffee causes and acid stomach. Can’t even drink Starbucks anymore. I bought pH drops for my coffee in the past which helped but alters the flavor slightly. Don’t need the drops with this. We even stopped buying coffee from our local coffee shop since inflation has caused it to go up several more $$ and not worth the price, or trip to the store. ... show more

I paid from 11.00 to 13.00 for a little over 8 ounces in a very nicely made airtight aluminum can. I don't spend money W ILLY N ILLY...HOWEVER I THOUGHT THIS WAS WORTH IT. Well I must say I just purchased a 2 pound bag of AMAZON MEDIUM ROAST COLUMBIAN R.A. SEAL COFFEE. IT IS SO GOOD, TO ME IT BEATS MY OLD CHOICE HANDS DOWN. AND THE PRICE? I'M SAVING A WAGON LOAD. The packaging, the air tight, the freshness and the beans were whole non broken. The roasting was overdone the shade of brown was closer to black than it was to a lighter brown, sign of a "proper" roasted bean medium grade. I am a bit of a coffee snob. I drink it black, and it has to have a strong taste and not be too bitter. That’s a lot to ask, but this coffee delivers. It still relatively cheap (it was a steal when I first subscribe and saved), and it tastes great. I grind the beans fresh every day or two, and use a paper filter and do the pour over method. This coffee is good. No complaints. Not the very best I've tasted but better than a lot of coffees. I generally think that Central and South American coffees do better as medium roast and this one is dark roast so maybe that's why it tastes only ok to me...not bad but not outstanding either...just kind of ordinary dark roast at a decent price. ... show more

I encountered a few bags of Starbuck's Caffe Verona with weak taste so I started shopping for a substitute. This works very well and is consistent in flavor, not to mention several dollars cheaper per ounce. I enjoy a strong brew without the burnt taste of French Roast or the full strength of an Espresso. One slight nitpick: the metal strip that helps secure the bag when you fold it over for storage ALWAYS comes off when you pull the sealed bag open for the first time and I have to use a piece of tape to re-attach it. I did not know what to expect from these coffee beans as this was my first purchase from Amazon. It is definitely a dark roast with a hint of burn. Aroma is great and tasted fine in my drip coffee maker. I did not like it as much in a French press. If you want a bold taste and a caffeine delivery system these beans will definitely do the job. This is by far the best coffee at this price. I was drinking Eight O'Clock before this but they raised the price on that so I tried the Amazon Basics brand and like it a lot better. I drink it very strong and very black and have no complaints about the flavor.
